William Branham's Prophesy of a Woman President?

As I recall, William Branham was considered a false prophet. I also know false prophets can be right at times but whether he is this time - that Hillary would become president - I do not know. He did prophesy the USA would end in 1977...

In any case, our country is in dire straits and do wonder how much longer God is going is going to allow people to mock him, spit in his face. After I decided that our country cannot go any lower then what it is now, I read an article that detailed the depravity that characterized Roman culture when Jesus came and the disciples went out to evangelize. Then I learned it could get worse. About makes me puke...

Branham said he received the sevenfold vision in 1933 but didn't put it in print until 1965. It is...

1. Mussolini would conquer Ethiopia, but then die a horrible death at the hands of his own people.

2. America would be drawn into a world war against Germany which would be headed up by the Austrian, Adolph Hitler, who would be vanquished and come to a mysterious end.

3. The third part of the vision showed that though there were three isms, Fascism, Nazism, Communism in the world, the first two would come to nothing but that Communism would flourish.

4. The fourth vision showed an egg-shaped car with a glass bubble roof which drove itself as the passengers played some kind of game. (Google has developed a self-driving car projected to hit the market by 2017-20.)

5. The fifth scene had to do with the disappearance of modesty. He saw a woman, fully dressed at first, but her clothing became increasingly revealing until she was wearing nothing but a G-string, or as he put it, "a little fig leaf type apron.”

6. There will arise over America a beautiful but cruel woman of great power and terrible splendor. Branham suggested three interpretations of this femme fatale: 1) The Roman Catholic Church, 2) a female president, 3) a symbol of womankind overthrowing God-ordained gender roles and dominating men.

7. "In the last and seventh vision I heard a terrible explosion. As I turned to look I saw nothing but debris, craters and smoke all over the land of America.”

Dead? If you had read my article you would have learned about The Second Coming of Branham, which will occur on an unspecified Easter Sunday in Jeffersonville, Indiana.

Branham was not a gospel preacher, since all his sermons were about himself, but he certainly was an interesting character--one of the many unsavory but colorful characters produced by American revivalism.

Branham used to have healing lines and the people would fill out a card request for healings, on one meeting 2 ministers decided to expose him as false and both falsely fill out healing cards and stood in line, when Branham received the one ministers card he declared that the minister had to have been mistaken because none of the illnesses listed on that card were present, the minister admittedly denied Branham and called him a false prophet publically, to which Branham than pronounced to that minister that those things he wrote on that card were now on him, that minister feel over dead, the second minister came forward in fear and repented. That was related to me by eye witnesses who used to be part of his church there in Indiana. There are some old news paper articles archived that do suggest that an incident similar to that did indeed happen. I personally am very very slow to say someone is false, unless I see worldly greed as part of their real life message and life style. When it comes to prophesy there is a great deal of room for misinterpretation even when the actual vision or dream is real and legitimate. I am not so sure I would be to quick to throw the baby out with the bath water. Just saying:/

I don't know which heresy hunter website that you got your information from, but you are way off base.

In the 40's and 50's, there was a great healing revival that took place, and the men that you mentioned with the exception of Jim Jones were all called of God and anointed with the gifts of healing and working of miracles. Many of these healings were recorded in the "Voice of Healing" publication. Every one of these men that you referred to preached the gospel of Jesus Christ and there were many souls that were saved as a result of their crusades. It is true that the truth of divine healing was emphasized in their meetings and that was because they were all called to a healing ministry, and the Spirit of God was being manifested through divine healing during this move of God.

Gordon Lindsay, who published "The Voice of Healing" was sound in the Word of God and he was William Branham's campaign manager. William Branham was a humble servant of the Lord, but he strayed from the will of God because he got out of his calling as a prophet of God and began to teach the Word of God, and he was never called to be a teacher. Gordon Lindsay warned him that he was in error, but Branham did not heed Brother Lindsay's admonition. Then William Branham started listening to men that got him in to even deeper error.

A.A. Allen was another man of God that was used in healing ministry that apparently slipped into alcoholism toward the end of his life. I met A.A. Allen's organ player at a meeting in a AOG church and asked him about Brother Allen's alcoholism, and he told me that he never saw A.A. Allen drunk. R. W. Shambach sat under the ministry of A.A. Allen and shared many wonderful things that God did during this time.

Oral Roberts was another man of God that was greatly used by God in the days of the healing revival in the 40's and 50's. I believe that Oral Roberts also got off on some of his teachings, but it does not nullify what God did through him during the years of the healing revival.

To compare these men to Jim Jones is erroneous. These men preached a strange gospel to those who do not believe in healing, miracles, signs, and wonders as being an intricate part of the preaching of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Much of this unbelief comes from the Cesationists.

Did you notice the pattern in your biographical sketches of these "men of God?" They all started well, but then Branham "strayed," Allen "slipped," Oral Roberts "got off." The whole movement ended badly because "a bad tree bears bad fruit." (Matt. 7:17)

Yesterday we discussed the records of some of the judges mentioned in Hebrew 11 in our house group. These were people with obvious flaws but God wrought salvation for Israel through them.

Why did God give Rahab, Samson, Gideon, Jephtah a place of honor in the bible?

Could God not have chosen better men and women? They had faith, and God honors faith often despite of character flaws.

Working a miracle of God does not mean that God endorses your character. The righteous will live not by good works but by faith. This is scandalous to the human soul.

EVeryone mentioned by Wayneman wasn't perfect but they did die with a shadow over their ministry. The elect can be deceived.

True, even the great saints of the Bible sometimes had great flaws. "We all stumble in many things," which is precisely why men should not put themselves forward as Miracle-Working Apostolic Supermen and why the ones who do always come to a bad end. "Pride goes before a fall."

It may be intriguing, but then, shouldn't we expect it to be. The enemy, that counterfeit, and father of lies, knows how to seduce, fascinate, and appeal to the curiosity of humanity. The spider's web will captivate as well as capture the unwary. Eve, nor any other, would have any interest in snake-versation, if there were no intriguing twists being performed on the stage of the dance-atorium.

I am concerned not so much about Branhams prophecies - although that could be revealing in short order - as to whether he is from God or not. But am concerned about some doctrinal positions he embraced that are clearly off the wall.

A few observations:

Many men and women have begun ministry under the genuine anointing of the Holy Spirit and powerfully used of God only to lose out in the race later on. I remember reading about John Alexander Dowie. He decorated his church with sayings that were literally spelled out using crutches, braces, wheel chairs, and other devices that were left behind by people who were instantaneously healed in his services. Many people were saved and discipled. Yet he got off in the end and fell. The lesson here is that we must be very careful in our walk with the Lord to remain humble and submitted to God and fellow brothers and sisters in the Lord. Just because a man got off in the end does not discredit his ministry when He was being used of God.

Many men that were powerfully used of God had some quirky ideas about non-essential doctrines. As an example, one that was VERY common in many churches at one time was the idea that dark skinned people were a result of the curse on Ham. There is only one problem with this. There was no curse on Ham, it was on Canaan, and we know for sure that Canaan was not dark skinned as he was the father of the Canaanites. Now I know this was not an isolated "odd" idea held by just one or two, but many, many pastors and churches preached this. We acknowledge that this doctrine was absolutely unbiblical and one that should be strongly refuted. But we did not totally write off these pastors or churches as a result.

It is interesting to see Brahnam's prophecies in context and read the words as they were given. Who knows. We will see if they come to pass. Looks to me like some have already. He might have been totally wrong. But what I notice is that he did not say the last president would be female then America would be destroyed as a nation. We would have to read that into what he said.
