Shining As Lights

"Do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, holding fast the word of life," (Philippians 2:14-16)

I do believe these verses really stand out for us in our day.Complaining and disputing seems to be the rule of the day. This world will never satisfy the child of God.We look for hope in it to try and satisfy our personal needs and it provides some temporary satisfaction. But in the long run we have to admit it comes up short. The reason it comes up short is because of our being a new creation in Christ,"created in righteousness and true holiness."We now have in us a deep longing that this world can't satisfy.
"Blameless and harmless" in our everyday walk. Now wouldn't that be a shock to the people we come in contact with each day. When we are walking in the satisfaction of this new creation that we have become in Christ, then this old creation can't offer us anything to compare with it.No politician with all his empty promises of hope, change and a better life can even come close to the promises we have in our Savior. With that attitude and frame of mind then the world can see us as blameless and harmless as doves.
"Children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation."Without fault in the middle of everything that is crooked and perverted.
I remember Tom Selleck saying in a movie that "Everything was going okay since he had given up hope."Well that might be what we need, when it comes to the hope this crooked and perverse generation offers.Give it up and look to the only hope we have and that is in our Savior and His coming back for us.As long as we continue to put our hope in a crooked and perverse generation, then we will continue to find fault and complain and dispute about it.
We as believers,as children of God are holding the word of life and you might be the only light that one person might see.

" For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us." (Romans 8:18)

Is this what I"Reckon"or"Consider"or"Conclude"or do I insist on trying to make a comfortable environment for this "New Creation"within me in a world system and creation that is subject to the bondage of corruption?
I'm afraid I "Consider" the latter more than I should to my many disappointments.
