Andrew Murray - Humility

Andrew Murray quotes
"Humility is perfect quietness of heart. It is to expect nothing, to wonder at nothing that is done to me, to feel nothing done against me. It is to be at rest when nobody praises me, and when I am blamed or despised. It is to have a blessed home in the Lord, where I can go in and shut the door, and kneel to my Father in secret, and am at peace as in a deep sea of calmness, when all around and above is trouble.”

I love Andrew Murray's writings and his book titled "Humility" is a nice little addition for any saint to try and read and has always been one of my favorites. I'm pretty sure it's available online. Thanks for posting this.

Amen! I can say beyond a shadow of a doubt that the Lord used his books to bring me to a full surrender and into rest.It changed my life completely and from that day on I have experienced the leading and teaching of the Holy Spirit in a clearer way and have learnt to depend upon Him in all things.

Blessings,

I concur with the above "Amens"!

I read this book every year... Looking forward to a level of sanctification that mirrors it to a greater extent!

I am very excited to know that there are so many of you that post on Sermon Index that have been blessed by the ministry of Andrew Murray in the many excellent books that he has written.

Back in the 80’s I was becoming very disillusioned with what I saw taking place in the Church, and I began to spend much time in the presence of God in prayer and in the Word. One of my favorite things to do was to go to various parks with my bible and other spiritual books that the Lord used greatly in my spiritual growth and attaining more intimacy with Him. I would have to say that Andrew Murray was at the top of the list of authors that I read, and as I would meditate on the words, they would feed me, because they were spirit and life and were inspired by the Holy Spirit being in line with the Word of God. Watchman Nee was another vessel of God whose writings spoke to my heart and renewed my mind.

The thing that first attracted me to Sermon Index was the articles and teachings of many of the old saints and from the Christian Classics. Wilkerson, Ravenhill and Tozer’s writings are prophetic and spoke to me personally and to the Church.
