New prayer request, and ongoing

Brothers and sisters,

My family is undertaking a rather large change. I cannot elaborate further at this time. But, we need wisdom on a number of fronts. God has already given us wisdom and we depend on Him for more. We are stepping forward as He has directed and made plain. While SI is not an assembly in the truest sense, it is a group of people whose hearts are Christ's and the effectual fervent prayers of His people do avail much. That is His word. And, I know from about six or so years of being part of this forum that you guys love the Lord and care for me in the best possible ways a forum group can do so.

Please pray that we will remain: united in heart, spirit and mind (we are and that is crucial); that we actively listen to the Lord Jesus and obey Him; that we dare not make any move not bathed in prayer and decided by God; that we be patient for the revealing of His direction for our path; that we obey Him in an instant. We are far too small, too stupid and too selfish to do anything in our own mind and understanding. We are fully and desperate in need of Him, always.

There will be a time when I can say more and I don't want to be cryptic or attention seeking. But, we need Him and I trust you to pray for and with us. I trust Him to answer those prayers.

Brother,

Colossians 1:9 For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; 10 that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; 11 strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy; 12 giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light. 13 He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, 14 in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.

Will definitely pray, brother Tim.
We seem to be a season of major changes for some of the saints of God. I personally have moved to two different states in the past two months; that's after being in the same area outside of Atlanta for 10 years. I prayed for wisdom and direction, and the Lord has been faithful and will continue to be.

The Lord has it all worked out brother; just keep trusting Him to lead you in the way you should go and to guide you with His eye (Psalm 32:8)

So, you're in Alabama now? Wow. Praying for you and your sons, too!

And, umm, the fact that you quoted THAT verse to me. Thank you, Lord, for your continuing words of direction. That verse has been part of this.

God bless and keeping trusting Him as He shows you what you should do. It usually is something "outside of the box".

God bless.

I ask you guys to please keep my family in your prayers over the next 2 days. My wife and I have made a significant decision that we believe is obedient to the Lord and is walking into a situation that He has ordained for us. We have not shared it with our daughter, by design, until tomorrow evening. I'll fill in some detail later but please pray that our daughter will have peace of mind and heart about it.

Thanks everyone for your prayers for my family.

We are moving to middle Tennessee in the next several months. My wife has a new job there beginning in January. The manner in which it came about, specific prayer and submission of the whole thing to God, circumstances, and His specific speaking to us brought us to "let's do it." It is a blessing.

In mid 2017 I will close my law practice in Alabama. Whether I seek admission to the Tennessee bar remains an open question. In any event I would not be admitted until early 2018 at the absolute earliest. We are praying for God's specific guidance about my own work. Obedience and seeking His heart daily are crucial.

Our daughter is now 13. We only informed her yesterday. We waited for the semester to end. We have known for about four weeks. Thank you for praying for her.

We have lived in Tennessee for a couple of years before, from mid 1990-mid 1992, for our first two years of college (bible college, actually, when I thought I was going to be a pastor). Beautiful state. Much larger population than where we now live. Quite a few home based churches and a few networks of them in the area. Eager, excited to explore that when we figure out where we are going to land exactly.

We are driving up tomorrow (Friday) to check it out, and for my wife to find her way to her new office. For the next five-seven months she will commute 2 hours one way and be a bit of a road warrior in the job. She will spend 1-2 nights weekly away from home until we move.

The variables of timing the move are me finding new work on the one hand, and in tension with that trying to let our daughter finish the school year where she now is. I am very interested in HR and compliance work, but no real experience in a corporate setting with that obviously. Also considering insurance or some other sales as a possibility. A bit of a change of fields, but very doable.

Anyway, I said I would share what the request was about and this is it. Thanks, again, for your kind prayers and willingness. As the Lord may prompt you, please do pray for us to listen, love, hear, obey and follow Him fully.

If you have any connections in the Nashville area and thoughts to share, hit me.

Update: Tonight, my wife stayed in home with a single lady we screened through a popular website for overnight in-home room rentals. They ate dinner in a local restaurant and watched a bit of the Alabama loss to Clemson. Later, my wife walked into a room and the lady was reading her bible. She learned that this woman is a lifelong atheist. She had been to church a few times and said she is unable to explain the feeling she gets but that it makes her want to cry. She was reading Genesis. They spoke a while. My wife encouraged her to read the gospels and shared some verses with her. In any event, this is very encouraging. It is exactly the kind of encounter we have longed to have here where we have lived in our little town since 1998.

Pray for this lady to turn fully to Jesus and be saved. Thank God for the work He starts.

Please remember my prayer request about our move and all that goes with it. But, above all, pray for this woman.
