Hi, there are quite a few Art Katz downloads that are over 80mins and won't fit on a CD if burnt in CD Format. How do others deal with this situation? Do you know of any good free (I won't pirate software) software that can reduce the length or split tracks? Thanks so much, God Bless you all.
If you're useing Nero software to burn you have to do 2 things, 1)try going into your expert settings and allow for overburning. That'll usually do the trick. 2) Some places sell cdrw's that are made to exceed 700mb/80min burns , but they're expensive and hard to find, but they are out there. Have been using Nero for a bit now as well and you can get a free 30 day trial here: http://ww2.nero.com/enu/index.htmlHaven't pushed the overburning to far as a lot of the times the extra couple of MB's are still not enough. Fortunately you can split the track in the Nero Burning mode (You have to switch out of "Nero Express" which is the simpler).By right clicking on the file and going to properties there is a tab for 'Index's, Limits and Split' where you can adjust the stop and start points, making note of the times. So for instance may cut a file at the 60 Min point, burn it and then start over with the same source file, repeating the process and continuing it where I left off, the last 20 MB or so, then usually trying to find another message that 'fits' to fill out the CD. It's a great tool.
