The Healing In The Word

If you are suffering from some sickness in your body I want to encourage you that there is healing. I want to look at a scripture that I have had personal experiences with. Proverbs 4:20-23 says, My son attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. That word health is translated medicine, remedy, healing, cure.

The word is healing so it’s not something that you have to wait for God to do, but something that you receive by following his instructions. Think about it, just like in the natural when you have a cold or a headache you go to the store and buy some aspirin or some cold medicine, you take it with the understanding that if you take it as directed the ingredients in it is designed to take care of your problem. And I’m telling you the word of God is designed to deal with any sickness. For Romans 1:16 says, the word of God is the power of God unto salvation. Do not limit that word salvation, in the Greek it is translated-healing, deliverance, preservation, wholeness. What sickness can resist the power of God. Understand what God is saying, in Luke 8:11 in the parable of the sower it says, "The seed is the word of God.” So, the word of God is seed and that’s how you have to treat it. The first time you hear the word that’s sowing and all other times you hear the word is watering.

In 1Corinthians 3:6 it says, "I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.” So, God increases the seed that’s sown and watered. When a seed is sown and watered it releases what’s in it. The seed of the word releases the power of God that’s in it when it is sown and watered. In Acts 14:8-10 there is an instance of a man that was impotent in his feet that sat listening to Paul preach and when Paul perceived he had faith to be healed, he said with a loud voice, "Stand upright on thy feet” and the man leaped and walked. This man got healed just listening to the word. Well, if he could then you can now. Nobody prayed for him. Nobody laid hands on him. Nobody called on the name of Jesus for him, but it was the word that did it. Keep the word in your eyes, ears, and mouth and it will do the same for you.

Amen to this!
I am reminded of a little book I once read by Derek Prince, "God's Medicine bottle".

There is woman I used to minister to in jail. She's out now and clean and just had a baby. Her little girl had reflux and the doctor was telling her she would be so sick and blah blah blah. She a new believer. I replied to her message on FB and told her to lay hands on her little girl and command the sickness to go and a spirit of vomiting. She texted me back the next day and said, "It worked!"

She said that she was holding her and thinking about what I said and she could hear a voice saying, "do it, go ahead, do it." She did so quietly and waited.

A week later she said she told her whole family that God healed her little girl. Sometimes it is also obedience, obey the Word. I give God all the glory and blessed be the name of the Lord!!!

I think this is what the Bible means when it says to pray for the sick. There may be some exceptions, like when you aren't near the person, but even then I think this type of commanding sickness to leave is what is contemplated- primarily because that is how Jesus and the apostles did it.

Personally, I have found this to be far more effective than praying mamby-pamby prayers asking God to heal someone if it be his will. If we have faith for the healing we should be able to minister it as the agents of Jesus Christ on the earth.
