Spiritual Responsibility

T
TMK Feb 15, 2017

"Has it ever dawned on you that you are responsible spiritually to God for other people? For instance, if I allow any turning away from God in my private life, everyone around me suffers. We "sit together in the heavenly places . . .” (Ephesians 2:6). "If one member suffers, all the members suffer with it . . .” (1 Corinthians 12:26). If you allow physical selfishness, mental carelessness, moral insensitivity, or spiritual weakness, everyone in contact with you will suffer." ~~Oswald Chambers

True, convicting and sobering words to meditate upon.

May we never forget them, when we are out and about, and when nobody else might know where we are, or what we are doing.

For heads of households the responsibility is multiplied.

May God be gracious to us, and give us more grace!

Thanks for this timely word in due season.

I've been convicted of this too many times and the Lord has shown me repeatedly how it benefits the body for us to, as individuals, lay our selves down in love for His namesake.

It's so easy for us to rationalize our getting distracted by the cares and concerns of this world but it does so much damage to the function of Christs' body.
Just imagine if your left foot stopped listening to your head...how hard all the other parts would have to work to compensate. This is what happens when we're not under the headship of Christ.
