That the world may believe

In John 17 Lord Jesus prays to His Father that WE would be one so that the world would believe that God sent His son to save us-

That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

So the worlds believing is contingent on us (His body/church) being one...!?

In light of some of the recent posts here on SI, it's no wonder the world doesn't believe and even mocks our Lord. How can we expect an unregenerated soul to behave any better than we ourselves do...

Amen brother. Because we take so light of the Lord's Church, we are not able to reach the unreached the way the Lord wants.

Jesus has said the same in John 13:35 as well,

"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

It is easy to imagine that we love fellow disciples of Jesus without being in a committed fellowship with disciples in the context of a local Church. Just like how an unmarried person can imagine that he will be a great husband, but once he is married he will seek divorce! It is because of Christians who lack love for their fellow brothers and choose not to meet with them as a Body of believers, today Christianity is in such a degraded stage. The enemy has exactly attacked Church and turned the believers away from Church so that they will never be able to be useful for God in the way in which God wants them to be.

Just imagine, today if someone says he is going to some remote African place to spread the Gospel, then we get so excited about him. But if there is another brother who is building a local Church in his locality by doing his part in the body, quietly submitting to the fellow brothers, we think he is wasting time. We value one ministry more than another.

Yeah brother Sree, we (the church) seem so distracted by many other things,...
Almost as if we're sitting on the sidelines being hyper-critical of those on the field...
Like we've forgotten or perhaps forsaken our first love-
We have no fear of the Lord before our eyes-
We speak recklessly not bridling our tongue-
We seek strife and striving not for unity-
We miss so many opportunities and grieve not-
We seem more concerned with being right than being righteous-

We are not our own, we were bought and paid for yet we live as tho we're owed something, as if we're entitled which makes us easily offended and ultimately ineffective-

..... For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.
Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.
