Yes and Amen!
The only solution for the old nature is its execution. God doesn't want to dress up sinners and make them moral people nor does He do the same with Christians. He wants to slay their old nature and replace it with a new. The axe is laid to the root.
"knowing this that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin may be done away with" (Rom 6:6)
A visiting minster in our congregation Sunday used a vivid illustration to depict God's attiude toward sin. He said that when outside that Chicago theater when John Dillinger hit the pavement it's a sure thing that he didn't sin any more after that. That was the end. In the same way, God's only way to deal with the old man is to send him to the pavement. Calvary.
