"What you shared here really reminded me just how easy it can be for me to rely on self in any given circumstance if I take my eyes off of JESUS. There is never a moment that I don't utterly and completely need GOD. Apart from HIM I will fail miserably. Praise GOD for HIS mercy, when I am weak and stumble HE shows me. HE never fails to help me see how desperate my need of HIM is."
Amen sister, I thank the Lord for His incredible mercy. Outside of Him we would be lost. I thank Him for the many times, the countless times He has forgiven me in the last 27 years of my walk with Him. Brokenness comes from actually living through defeats and realizing that without Him we would be lost. It is a humbling thing to know, not in theory, but in realty that if I do not stay close to Him my flesh is never far away. I will need Him until the day this corruptable flesh is raised up in in-corruption. Good to hear from you sister. Yours is always a voice of love and wisdom and maturity............bro Frank
Isa 57:15Â For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.Â
Psa 51:11-12Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me. Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.
Rom 5:10Â For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.Â
Rom 7:18Â For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing:
Gal 5:5Â For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.Â
1Jn 1:8-9 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Joh 13:8-10 Peter saith unto him, Thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me. Simon Peter saith unto him, Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head. Jesus saith to him, He that is washed needeth not save to wash his feet, but is clean every whit: and ye are clean, but not all.
It is necessary to our having a part in Christ that he wash us. All those whom Christ owns and saves he justifies and sanctifies, and both are included in his washing them. We cannot partake of his glory if we partake not of his merit and righteousness, and of his Spirit and grace.(Matthew Henry)
