So a very close friend of mine and a brother in the Lord has been on a trip and we talked a few times and texted while he was away. He said he had some books for me he was picking up along the way but I never imagined! Last night he brought me:
"Things to Come - A Study in Biblical Eschatology" - by J. Dwight Pentecost - 583 pages. I don't agree with his pre-trib view but it looks like a good volume nonetheless.
"The Lord our Righteousness" - it's a small pamphlet booklet by George Whitfield (1714-1770) - 20 pages.
"The Lord Our Righteousness" - by Horatius Bonar (1808-1889) - 101 pages. Bonar is somewhat of an unknown jewel in my opinion. I wish people knew more about him and his writings
"The Life of Elijah" - by Arthur Pink (1886-1952) - 230 pages.
"The Gospel of Christ Crucified - A Theology of Suffering Before Glory" - by John P. Harrigan (still with us) - 314 pages with a ton of superlative footnotes.
What a treasure trove was given unto me by this brother last night. I'm a bit giddy and just wanted to shard a major PTL. Plus I've got the good books of all books which is our major concentration and treasure.
