Justin Welby is the senior bishop and principal leader of the Church of England and the symbolic head of the worldwide Anglican Communion... Apparently he was interviewed by British GQ magazine for November issue and when asked if gay sex is sinful, this was his response:

"You know very well that is a question I can't give a straight answer to. Sorry, badly phrased there. I should have thought that one through....I don't do blanket condemnation and I haven't got a good answer to the question.
I'll be really honest about that. I know I haven't got a good answer to the question."

His answer is heartbreaking. The Word of God does have a good answer to that question, and a chance was provided to give the answer, in grace, from God Himself instead of human reasoning.

The principle of Ezekiel 3:18 came fearfully to mind this morning after reading about this interview. "If I say to the wicked, ‘You shall surely die,’ and you give him no warning, nor speak to warn the wicked from his wicked way, in order to save his life, that wicked person shall die for his iniquity, but his blood I will require at your hand."

May God grant each of us to be able to say one day, as the apostle Paul did: "Therefore I testify to you this day that I am innocent of the blood of all, for I did not shrink from declaring to you the whole counsel of God."

Last summer we were selling a few things on Craigslist and a man and his wife came to purchase something. While my husband was outside talking and helping hers carry something to their vehicle, she and I talked for a while and the conversation shifted to how public schools now teach that homosexuality, etc is normal and good. She is a Christian, but with all the new scientific studies and opinions, she wasnt convinced it was wrong anymore.

She mentioned how we are not under the old testament regulations. I asked if I could read her a passage from my New Testament on the topic. She was very open and glad to listen. The following passage is what I felt led to read aloud and it was as if time stood still...it was one of those God moments...and when I finished she was shocked. "I have never read that before...where is that found in the New Testament?!..."

Its so important to share the whole counsel of God and not give our own reasoning in place of His word. His word is living and powerful. This is the passage:

"because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image like corruptible man....

Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.

And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting...

...who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.

It's hard to understand that so called 'Christians' don't know that homosexuality is a sin.

We already have a war on our hands, we don't need any defectors. Although, maybe they have given over to the strong delusion.

I think that it is more a dilemma, that any who have been born from above, respond as they do, to a man like Justin, making such a statement.

I'll elaborate on this if any are still in the dark as to what I mean.

Yes I am. As I said, any who are born of God. On this forum or elsewhere.

After Hillary Clinton gets out of church Sunday morning and heads over to the gay parade to celebrate and march with all her friends, are any who are born of God surprised by that?

Or, is anyone surprised by a fish swimming in water? Or, by a dog barking? If so, we need to talk!

Sadly, this title may very well be the stumbling block to clear gospel declarations. When a man drops the cross to carry this immense title it is little wonder he has no strength left.

Like many of you who in the estimation of men are zero's nobodies, insignificant, without reputation...and all you carry is a cross, there is abundant strength to declare the whole counsel of God.

I do see what you mean. In that sense these things are not suprising...but at the same time, it wasnt so very long ago that J.C. Ryle was a bishop in this same group, but he was a true disciple of The Lord Jesus, a preacher of righteousness from the heart and would never have compromised the word of God.

We all do expect to see such apostasy unfolding in this hour, but truly as every facade of righteousness or true loyalty to the Lord falls away, it is till shocking and grieving to see it manifest.

But we know Who is victorious and in absolute omnipotent control of every single thing and so our hearts cry Come, Lord Jesus!

I love your response to this lady. I also love Romans 1 - it is so powerful, so encomassing in dealing with so many issues. Then you have the last verse:"..who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them." If this will not cause some to shake in their boots I have no idea what it would take to wake them up. Sad.
