What Age?

sermonindex Oct 22, 2017

Hi Saints,

I'd like to ask how old are you when you gave your life to Christ or decided to follow Him...

I was 16 years old when I decided to follow Him, I was grasping everything about Christianity, was really a baby that age... I saw how God worked in my life and developed me year by year into maturity as a Christian...

I love the thoughts that before we are conceive in our Mother's womb, God already planned our life and He knows the age we will respond to Him and follow Him...

A former RC, I was 15 then, while a college freshman through a university fellowship. There was no drama during my conversion, but felt I have to lead a new life after I made the sinner's prayer. Dramas came later as I went through moments and periods of spiritual awakenings.

I was about 8, however I did not catch fire until I was about 40.

I was 8 years old. I sat in a service where the power of God was very manifest. I felt strong conviction in my heart, but was not entirely sure what it meant. I sat weeping and my great Aunt, being led of the Holy Spirit, came to me, put her arm around me, and asked if I would like her to go forward and pray with me. I knew instantly what I needed and went forward, knelt at a bench, and weeping, confessed before God my sinfulness and prayed that He would forgive me. I still remember the presence of God and the moment when I was assured in my spirit that I was forgiven and right with God. A huge weight came off of my shoulders and I felt the conviction and burden lift and be replaced with joy and thanksgiving. Just the memory of it makes me want to weep again today. Wow, was God ever good to me.

I was 14. I knew almost nothing, and had little to no exposure to real Christianity up until that point.

Elizabeth: This same great aunt that I spoke of was born again and baptized in the Holy Spirit at age 5. I have always been amazed at the Godliness and practical walk with God that she has. God will, I believe, deal with us at whatever age we are able to comprehend His holiness, our lost condition, and what it means to surrender our lives to Him.

It helps when every adult in your family on both sides as far back as can be remembered were born again. The value of growing up in a godly environment cannot be underestimated.

It makes me wonder about those born in far less favorable circumstances. Just have to trust that the Judge of all the earth will do right.

I shared the Gospel with my Parents and my father said that he never heard what I shared to him in his entire life...

I am beyond joyful to shared the Good News to my Family...
