God's image

sermonindex Nov 17, 2017

"One of the most awesome revelations in Scripture is that people are made in the image of God, and that therefore people have intrinsic value before God. We have inherent worth because we were created by God after His own likeness.

What could give you more dignity, worth, and purpose than to know that you are made in God's image, are loved by God, and that God gave Jesus over for your sins to bring you into relationship with Him?

Ever single person is an image-bearer loved and valued by God. It's just so cool to look at people through the lens of recognizing they are an image-bearer with intrinsic God-ordained worth. Makes me love people more."

This is interesting,Evangeline,

Gen.1:26,
"¶ And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness:"

Gen.1:27,
"So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them."

( So man was created in 'God' image,.....and we know that 'God is the Word,...everything that is in that Word,.... all He is, ....Truth,...all He stands for,...That is God' image.

So,..the image of God,was Adam / Eve image ,before the fall,...before he decided to do his own will,..... disobedience to The Voice / Word of God.

Rom.8:29,
"For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate 'TO BE CONFORMED TO THE IMAGE OF HIS SON', "

Question: So what is the 'image' of His Son ?

1 Cor.15:22,
"For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive."

Vs.34,
"Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame."

Vs.35-43,
¶ But some man will say, How are the dead raised up? and with what body do they come?
36 Thou fool, that which thou sowest is not quickened, except it die:
37 And that which thou sowest, thou sowest not that body that shall be, but bare grain, it may chance of wheat, or of some other grain:
38 But God giveth it a body as it hath pleased him, and to every seed his own body.
39 ¶ All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds.
40 ¶ There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another.
41 There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory.
42 ¶ So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:
43 It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power:"

Thank you,...sister for bringing forth thought on His image.
