I feel horrible.

S
seagullterror9 Nov 18, 2017

Over the past week or two, I've felt horrible. It feels like my brothers and sisters in Christ don't really care anymore.
It feels like I have failed God so badly. I've just failed.
I have fell into this sin (porn) over 30 times in the past 2 months. 30+! This is ridiculous. I want out! I want it gone. I even had the AUDACITY to ask God for forgiveness every time I did it (sometimes multiple times a day) I've been without it for a few days now, but I still feel lonely, cold and unwanted.

Loneliness has always been something I've struggled with, but this is horrible.

Before this happened I had (what felt like) a wilderness experience, then for about a week I felt so joyous. Now, for the past couple weeks I have felt horrible. Absolutely horrible, and rightfully so.

Is there any hope left for me? I feel BAD. Over these past couple weeks I have ran to worldly pleasures (video games and videos) and humor because of how horrible I feel.

Can anybody give me any help; encouragement?

Godbless you all; this has been tough.

Key,
This is what was dropped into my Spirit for you.

James4:6-10,

¶ But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.

7 ¶ SUBMIT yourselves unto God ..(The mighty Spirit Word). 'RESIST THE DEVIL, AND HE WILL FLEE FROM YOU.

8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.

9 Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.

10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

(And l.I might add: CRY OUT TO GOD,!... ..He desires to help us ...He will help..)

kindness / offering,

Praying for you, Key.

If you fall down, just fall down again at the mercy and grace found at the feet of the Lord.

Remember: He knows you better than you know yourself. He knows your strengths, weaknesses and struggles.

He is here -- always waiting to fellowship with you.

1) Prayer begins with intimacy, we come to Him not just in times of trial but just because we want to be with Him. Same thing with reading the Bible. This is what it means to call on the name of the Lord. This results in being...

2) Conformed to his character. We don't just say the name of Jesus like it's a magic phrase, praying in the name of Jesus means praying according to His character and will. John 14:13-15 - that the Father might be glorified. 1Jn 3:2 - fully conformed.

Now the great lie of the enemy will be that if you aren't fully conformed to His image you should just stay away. The Bible is exactly the opposite, we are to come into His presence with brokenness and thanksgiving. If you choose to trust God even though you are going through great temptations, God will save.

Don't let Satan lie to you that you must first get it right before you come to God. Don't elevate your faults over the cross. Don't make a bunch of promises that you'll do better but trust in His promises, appropriate them. This leads to...

3) The fear of the Lord. This is to be afraid of hurting Him not being afraid of Him hurting us. We don't have to come to Him with a bunch of promises that we'll do better. Exodus 34:5-7

The Lord rebuke you.. God is our defender. Brokenness is good, godly repentance is good, but let it bring you to Him and to rejoice in His embrace, there will be strength over temptation. Temptations will always be there but victory is in Him. Don't let the enemy make you think that you should be over this temptation.

In Christ,

Make no allowance for the flesh. Meaning restrict the internet at least for a time. Find counselling as I suggested like illbehonest.com and find local accountability with a minister or some godly person.

May God bless you in turning you from your sins. Acts 3:26

Pastors at a church I used to attend had pictures of Jesus attached to the computer screens or messages such as "I will not go there.”

If you are using your phone it is not as easy to do this but as Greg suggested you are going to have to "cut off your hand” or "gouge out your eye”- ”” not literally but you may have to make it impossible to indulge in this sin until you can break the habit.

Hey Key,

My heart goes out to you because I know you sincerely want to break free from your addiction but you find it hard since it is on "autopilot" due to repeated giving in to craving triggers. Your brain has laid down neuronal "tracks" that get deeper as you continue in the addictive cycles. I don't have easy or painless answers for you. But today I want to share with you that there is something underneath your habit that causes you to act out this way for relief. I would say that all addictions are a coping mechanism to deal with difficult emotions from being wounded or rejected earlier in life. You need to have compassion on yourself for having this problem and stop beating yourself up. I am not saying to give up and give in. I am saying take responsibility and deal with your core issue of inner woundedness and rejection. Pray that Jesus would reveal to you where the wound comes from and pray for healing of that wound. It will take time. Also know that your way of handling the situation is sin, specifically the sin of IDOLATRY. You probably acted out of ignorance or deception but still, it is pure poison to you having a good relationship with God. Peter says it wages war on our souls. Humble yourself and repent in a long, hard, slow and deliberate manner before God admitting that you chose to worship and obey a false god instead of the one and true Living God. Don't try and gin-up emotions over this; if they come naturally, fine and good. God is more interested in your sincerity than emotions.

Watch this short video. It talks about the roots of addiction:

This book might also help. It is by a Christian author:

I will be praying for you my brother,

You can overcome if youre willing to not allow your mind to dwell on it as youre walking down the road. And also remove the tempation while youre doing this. You have to start to resist at times during the day until you are continually resisting. And make sure your mind wont dwell on it at all. Then you will be transformed. Its hard work Key.

And when you begin to resist there will be a kick back and voices saying this cant be done.
But take the hard road the road that leads to life said Jesus. Ive been where you are.
I allowed my eyes not to look upon a woman lustfully.

But it will mean you wont get any more pleasure from the sinful thought life.

We have to lose our life in this present evil age, its what we are all called to do.

The Lord doesnt just want people who have experienced miraculous deliverances, he wants to develop us to be soldiers. Who can take thoughts captive. And resist temptation and not be drawn by its pull anymore.

"Over the past week or two, I've felt horrible. It feels like my brothers and sisters in Christ don't really care anymore.
It feels like I have failed God so badly...."

You feel:

1) horrible
2) no one cares
3) you've failed God

You then assess correctly when you say,

"I've just failed"

-----------------

You then answer and give the cause of all this when you say,

"I have fell into this sin (porn) over 30 times in the past 2 months. 30+!"

I answer,

What were you expecting from sin!

--------------

You then ask,

"Is there any hope left for me?"

I answer,

"Anyone who is among the living has hope ”” even a living dog is better off than a dead lion!" Ecclesiastes 9:4

--------------

You then repeat,

"I feel BAD."

And I say to you, expect those feelings, unless and until you repent.

-------------

To those who may say I lack love and compassion, I will let Jesus answer,

"If your hand or your foot causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life maimed or crippled than to have two hands or two feet and be thrown into eternal fire. And if your eye causes you to stumble, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into the fire of hell." Matthew 18:8,9

Hi Key.

First of all, I want to let you know that you are not alone in your struggle. No matter how badly you've sinned, no one in the body of Christ stands in judgment over you. We are here to restore you and build you up, not to shame you or discourage you. We are with you.

Second, forget the past and just put your trust in Jesus right this moment. He loves you, and He has already forgiven you the moment you ask, whether you feel forgiven or not. Don't be like Adam and hide from God because you feel guilty.

Third, can I suggest you read Romans chapters 6 through 8?

God bless brother. Feel free to contact me via email, facebook or by phone.

I would recommend this SI audio :

The Snare of the Folwer by Roy Hession

Topic: Snare
Scripture(s): Psalm 124:7, Romans 6:14, Romans 7:5 \t
Description: This Psalm depicts Israel escaping the snare of the fowler, which is a figure of the redeemed being freed from the entrappings of sin by the gracious hand of the Lord Jesus. The power of sin over the christian, or anyone, is it's ability to condemn and maintain our guilt before the law of God, we can go on for years under the power of a sin that we may only have commited once, this is the sanre designed by Satan himself and the more we try and work our way free the tighter it becomes and the more condemned we feel trying to live up to the law in order to please God. But praise God for the Lord Jesus who took upon Himself the wieght of sin and not only that but became my sin and yours for us, He alone could have exhausted the power of sin and the law over us and so He alone can free us from it's grasp.
