Blessings to each of you as you gather together with spiritual and natural family tomorrow. I find this holiday entirely appropriate for the Christian; how grateful we are to know Him, to have his love shed abroad in our hearts, and to be His witnesses in our day.
Count your blessings name them one by one...

Let us not only be thankful for food (as we should be). But also thankful for the great salvation and God we serve.

Dear Brothers and Sisters,
In a few hours many of us will be gathering around tables loaded with turkey and dressing. We will be with family and loved ones. And for sure there will be grateful hearts that will be thanking God for the many blessings He has given us.
In Cuba if you go to a restaurant and order a ham sandwich. The restaurant owner may tell you all we have is ham but no bread. Would you like a ham sandwich. Our brothers and sisters in that restricted nation learn to thank God simply for the ham.
How many of us have given out gospel tracts only to see them thrown away? How many of us have received a gospel tract and have thrown it away. Yet in Cuba gospel tracks are so valued. That when they are given out they are read. Also pastors have a limited supply of tracts. When they run out by the end of the month. They will often go to a person they have given a tract to and politely ask if they could have it back. The pastor asks this so they can give it to another person. In essence gospel tracks are recycled in Cuba.
Our brothers and sisters in restricted nations such as Cuba learn that Jesus is all you need. He is the greatest blessing. I think this is what Paul meant in 2nd Corinthians 9 when he said thanks be to God for His Indescribable blessing. Indeed the greatest Indescribable blessing is Jesus Himself.
As we do give thanks this day with family and loved ones let us thank God for the Lord Jesus Christ who makes all things possible. Also let us continue to remember our brothers and sisters in persecuted nations. Please do remember them in your prayers this day.

As we give thanks to God this day for all that He is, and all that He has done, as our brother mentioned, let us remember to pray for the persecuted Church. We are all one body of Christ.
This morning I had a burden to pray for the nation of Venezuela. The people of Venezuela are going through much suffering, hunger, and bondage under the dictator, Nicholas Maduro, that has driven that oil rich nation to the point of economic collapse, and has arrested those that oppose him.
May the Church in Venezuela rise up, and may righteousness and justice come to that nation.
