New Ravenhill Listener!

L

I really enjoy the sermons of all the giants of yesteryear: John Rice, Comfort, Tozer, Wilkerson, Sunday, Spurgeon, etc, etc, etc. I read some of the posts about Ravenhill and saw all the downloads. I actually talked to a couple people who heard him in person. So finally I listened. It was obvious within the first 5 minutes of the message I was not to be disappointed. I have listened to 1 Cor 13 and The Judgement Seat of Christ. It is quite interesting that though one message is about love, and the other about judgement, that both carry very similar messages. I think we could learn much from this humble little street preacher of old. He's the only preacher I think I've heard that brings the word "eloquent" to mind. Yet, he cuts down the tree of the modern day church (so-called) like a heaven-sent axeman. I hope we carry the torch men like him carried. The torch being an non-watered down gospel of repentance and faith.A good friend of mine was assigned to cater to "Brother Len" when he came to his church. Ravenhill was given a huge amount of money for preaching at this revival. My friend took him to the bank, where Ravenhill turned almost the entire amount into a check for mission work, and kept just enough for himself to get by. Smites of the work of men like Wesley, Muller, and Brainerd.
