Could you give any more information, such as which denomination you heard it sung, any more words at all (even from different lines), whether what you've got is the first line of a verse or chorus, or the title of the hymn itself? Maybe it is a line which is repeated at the end of each verse? The author of the words?Any information on the tune, such as whether other hymns can be sung to the tune (or psalms) and the rhythm of the tune (eg march, walk, waltz or irregular). Any more info at all - welcome! :-) I will check what's online under the snippet you have, and report back.
Ethan:I think this is the Hymn you're looking for. I found it in an old Hymnal we have at home. If you can find an old Hymnal it may have it in it as well.God bless.“Our Great Savior” by J. Wilbur ChapmanV1 Jesus! what a Friend for sinners!Jesus! Lover of my soul;Friends may fail me, foes assail me,He, my Savior, makes me whole.ChorusHallelujah! what a Savior!Hallelujah! what a Friend!Saving, helping, keeping, loving,He is with me to the end.ChorusV2 Jesus! what a Strength in weakness!Let me hide myself in Him.Tempted, tried, and sometimes failing,He, my Strength, my victory wins.ChorusV3 Jesus! what a Help in sorrow! While the billows over me roll,Even when my heart is breaking,He, my Comfort, helps my soul.ChorusV4 Jesus! what a Guide and Keeper! While the tempest still is high,Storms about me, night overtakes me,He, my Pilot, hears my cry.ChorusV5 Jesus! I do now receive Him,More than all in Him I find.He hath granted me forgiveness,I am His, and He is mine.Chorus
