At the moment I am at work and have to listen to popular music 9 hours a day, the radio station has three tracts that they play over and over again

As I work with food this was a really interesting video as they have tested different music against say different music and saw how the ice crystals reacted to things like Amazing Grace

This is advantages of listening to the Bible and listening to Gods word we live in a culture where we have Christian music and listening to sermons!

I would so miss working in the Christian bookshop and listening to christian music every day. I so hate having to listening to worldly music 24-7 ! I wish I was in a christian enviroment, I hate having to listening to non christian music for 9 hours a day!

Dominic, I can sympathize. I worked as a janitor for 7 years, and mostly cleaning large supermarkets. The music was nauseating, top 40 garbage. And they played the same 10 songs. All. Night. Long.

As far as secular music goes, I don't believe all of it is demonic, but surely a large part. It kind of blows me away how people can't see this; like Jimmy Page casting spells in concert (I had a Zeppelin DVD and saw him do it), or Jimi Hendrix admitting he was demon possessed. I've told some people that and most of them say something like "Oh, they're just doing it for publicity, they don't really believe that." Secular artists like Carlos Santana are very open about their use of channeling to write and compose music, and the history of popular music is rife with connections to black magic, seances etc all admitted to by the musicians themselves. If a person doesn't see this, it's because they don't want to.

1:Most worship music is off really good production wise but is amazingly forgettable! 2:Modern Christian music is drab in the most part 3:Modern Christian Music says the right words but is uninspired 4:Most music is just notes on a line ,play it with a violin and it's Heavenly ,play it with Gritty Rock guitar it's demonic (lyrics aside)5:Modern Christian music mostly is salt that has lost its saltiness and has no effect on the world or The Church!6:We need to get the God through his Spirit to inspire our song making and we should not be producing filler but only top quality music urs staff

There is truth in what you are sharing. I had my 2 children in walmart today and the music was terrible. I told them not to focus on it but think of heavenly things instead. All of a sudden everything was black, the power went out and when it came on 3 seconds later it was silent no music. A peace came over us and we enjoyed the rest of the time at walmart with zero music. The Lord heard us and perhaps shared his opinion also of what was being played.

It was honestly much easier to think on the Lord and converse with the children about the things of God without that loud music playing.

Thats hard work how did you survive I used to survive with my mobile phone playing Christian music but I am not allowed my mobile phone, I so want somewhere to work where I can play my music all day long and not use headphones

I just tried to tune it out (unsuccessfully sometimes). I'm really glad they don't play music at my current job (they can't for safety reasons; I work in a factory). I did play some Keith Green for my boss one time. Suffice to say he did not like it (this was in his truck; I carpool with him).

I generally cannot listen to "popular” Christian music on the radio with a few exceptions. I find it generally uninspired and imitative of plain old pop music or country.

I have been listening a lot to a band called Hammock. The two members are Christians and while the music is not overtly Christian (its instrumental) I find it very inspiring and beautiful.

I think there was one factory I was working in, I got to play christian music in the entire factory. It was a refresh after they were playing like Heavy Metal Demonic Music and I could not stand it.

You do get alot of bad christian music, it is the good christian music that I tend to like.

I think it was the album 10,000 reasons that one of the friends of my Dad who worked for him liked. I bought it for him and he has become a christian but he still needs a miracle with his back as he has genetic back problems and needs a regular church.

My problem has been at work because I have been going to places where I am not allowed my mobile phone I have had to listen to secular music constantly.

As working in the Christian Bookshop I would distill through the albums that I thought that you could not distinguish were actually christian by the things like the lyrics. There were certain record labels better than others but I so desire strongly christian music and I listen to all the current christian music and find it lacking.

I feel so caught between I like some of the older hymns but some of the newer songs I like aswell as they are theologically ok. I just find it sometimes hard to praise and worship God in church as in either case it could be older songs I dont know or newer songs I dont know or I find boring or uninteresting

I used to praise god alot on my own and find it really hard!

I believe that it can, but I have thought about this quite often.

Interesting question.Music for the most part is just notes on a line,depending on what instrument that plays the notes determines whether it will sound angelic or demonic!Perhaps we should look at the motivation behnd what instruments are used rather than the notes themselves.Does ACDC want to glorify God?we can say that they dont so they play the way they do,if the same music was in the hands of Vineyard for instance we could say they do and they will choose different instruments,adjust tempo,key etc hopefully keeping God in mind as they produce the song.
Also can God inspire,direct,instill or impart a piece of music into a Christians mind or creative process?I would say a big Yes.In this instance (which is the way it should be)we would have to say yes to your question,urs staff

In certain bible versions (kjv eg) it never mentions that angels sing. I was amazed the first time I heard that pointed out.

I did a tad bit of reading on the web about music: its effect on the brain. The things experts have learned about music's effect on the brain is an eye-opener. Suggest you all take a look. (I am sure you all know how to "google" so that you can pull up those sites.)

I understand the angst employees have when they are forced to listen to bad music. Twice I was in a store where they were playing LOUD rock music - it about drove me crazy. I complained to the sales people that this music is so horrible I cannot stand it and I am getting out of there as soon as I can! They all looked at me kind of funny - maybe they did not know a Mennonite woman can verbalize her negative feelings so forcibly (?). In any case, that store closed soon there after. Later was at a store in Birmingham and they played horrible music Loudly - so loud you can barely hear yourself think! They eventually closed, too. I was sadden this store closed because I would shop there when ever I was close by.
