An exhortation from a facebook account but is very applicable here also:
I have been disappointed and appalled by the lack of graciousness that is common in supposedly Christian discussions. Name-calling, insults, and proud boasts seem to be the norm when discussing Christ and the scriptures. If I would have learned my Christianity online, I would probably think these were the preferred tools of the most earnest followers of Christ. Fortunately, there are finer, purer sources to learn from.
Here is what I will offer you for all of my discussions and interactions with you. I will not call you names or belittle your opinions or put you down or write you off simply because you disagree with me, and if I do I will repent and apologize.
I wonder if professing Christians realize what a serious error they are in when they insult and degrade those whom God made in his own image, those whom Jesus Christ shed his blood for. My desire is always to honor the Lord, thus I will always honor you, dear friend.
Christian conversation should always be reasonable and with dignity for all involved, and only concerned with the truth and exalting the Lord.
