Adam

If nagging him 24/7 failed, she'd have schemed to persuade him somehow.

You see, there's not much difference between Delilah and her.

But since Adam did eat, may we christian men follow the example of the second Adam, and the christian women follow the example of Sarah. If so, we'll get along much better!

I asked a Doc of Divinity that same question, to which the reply was that God would have made him a new help meet. Personally I am not sure, interesting question.

This is not meant to be a carnal jab at anyone or a major quibble just to stir the pot in the wrong way. But not long ago I came to understand better the difference between what we refer to as the second Adam and the phrase which technically we should properly be using. There is a difference I think between the second Adam and the second man.

Quoting,

"As we consider God's provision through Calvary, it is important for us to understand two titles of Jesus. First, in I Corinthians 15:45:

So it is written, "The first man Adam became a living being [or a living soul]." The last Adam became a life-giving spirit.

Many Christians call Jesus "the second Adam. But that ids incorrect. Verse 45 calls him the last Adam. Does it make a difference? It does, as we will see in a minute.

But first we will go on to verse 47:

The first man was of the earth, made of dust; the second Man is the Lord from heaven.

So Jesus is called first the last Adam and then the second Man. We must get these titles right and in the right order. If we do not get them right, or if we put them in the wrong order, it does not make sense.

On the cross Jesus was the last Adam. He was not the last in the sense of time; there have been millions and millions of descendants of Adam born since then. But He was the last in the sense that the evil inheritance of the whole Adamic race came on Him in its entirety as He hung on the cross. The total inheritance of our sin-cursed race came on Him. And when He was buried, it was all buried with Him. Our evil nature inherited from Adam was put away. Finished. Put out of sight.

Then, when Jesus arose from the dead, He arose as the second Man, a new kind of man, the beginning of the Emmanuel race, the God-man race. Everyone who is born again through faith in Jesus' death and resurrection becomes part of this Emmanuel race. Makre sure this is very clear to you.

Now, no one has committed a great and hideous sin by referring to Jesus as the second Adam. People commonly use this phrase but a little deeper study might be worth the while. There is a point of clarification needed on this point that is worth considering in my opinion.
