I am not commenting on the message... just the verse that is referred to here.
"Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,” Hebrews 12:1, KJV.
Legally a witness is someone who can testify of what they have seen.
The "great cloud of witnesses" are those who can testify of what they have seen the Lord accomplish.
There is not a balcony of people in heaven looking down to witness us.... they have better things to do.
