Thank bro Fletcher for that information, better to go straight to the source rather than rely on some worldly websight. There is a big push on in Britain to curtail the language of the Bible because it is "offensive." Some people just refuse to see what is coming or perhaps just cannot handle the thought. But whether people can handle it or not, these kinds of measures are coming and it is wise and prudent to prepare ourselves in our own spirits for the battle ahead........bro Frank
This is a gateway piece of legislation. Having read the proposed bill, this sentence from section 2 seems to me to be the the legal avenue to stop all efforts to share in any way with a gay person that their lifestyle is sinful/harmful. Read it yourself ( not snopes) and see what you think....
(i) (1) "Sexual orientation change efforts” means any practices that seek to change an individual’s sexual orientation. This includes efforts to change behaviors or gender expressions, or to eliminate or reduce sexual or romantic attractions or feelings toward individuals of the same sex.
If this were passed into law, sharing with anyone who is homosexual what the Bible says about homosexuality would be illegal. The naysayers cry " dont worry, its nothing." It is something very significant. Many saints have warned that these kinds of laws are coming down through the last few decades, they were always sneered at, and sadly, much of the sneering came from within our own community. It would be akin to Jewish people warning other Jewish people in the very early 30s that evil was about to be unleashed upon them, and tragically many Jewish people, especially the older ones, just could not see it........bro Frank
Too many Christians are democrat/liberal who voted in the politicians of Sodom, they wanted the liberal atmosphere of Gomorrah so, God gave them their hearts desire, leaders who reflect their own corruptions and politicians who love the wages of unrighteousness.
The Belly voters and the ungodly chose men and women who are happy to sell out the constitution for anyone who would pay them to not work, keep the power person in place in order to further their own agenda. Morality, decency, the constitution are all sacrificed for "I need to get what I can" attitude. The pagans flooding from Mexico will vote for whatever will empower their illegal status, the hollywoood liberal will vote for whoever promises guilt-free sex with anyone of their choosing.
The rich will vote for whoever gives them money for their business.
The Christian, seems to agree with the media, whatever the media hates at the time, they vote against, and whatever the media approves they believe. They sacrifice God, their children and their freedoms for whatever social programs will suit their communities.
Democrats 40 years ago were more conservative than republicans now a days, but today, liberal lunacy and socialism rule the thinking of so many.
We get the rulers we wanted, we get the leaders that reflect our own hearts. Now, when those leaders live out their pagan beliefs and enact laws to secure their pagan beliefs, you may go directly to the voters and thank them for what they are receiving.
California is no different than the State of Washington where I live, we vote in socialists, we vote in anything that fills the belly or encourages our lusts.
But, it is no surprise, take a look at the pulpit, you will see right there, the reason for Sodom's rule, it started as the pulpits were accommodating to worldliness and silent against the sins of the community. Now, the Pagans and the community are ready to tell the Christians what they can say or not say.
We are so like Israel of old, we have our false prophets, our false teachers and our false professors.
We on SI are that microcosm too, truth is sacrificed for culture; unity is important to us, so we accept most anything and in turn learn to accept anything outside the Church walls as well.

So even if you don't try to make a gay person "straight" but just want to help them reduce sexual urges and cope being celibate, you will be found in violation of this law. WOW!

I suppose we shall see (assuming this bill becomes law) which CA churches will be the first to test it from the pulpit.
I have heard one sermon in 18 years on homosexuality from the pulpit in OH and NC in 7 different churches.
It does not seem that pastors have been scrambling to preach that message, even prior to laws like this being threatened.
Brother Blaine: You should know better. If your are a reprobate you need to be saved. There is nothing sillier than a Christian attempting to equalize everything by denying the difference between a Child of God and a Child of the Devil, a son of light and a son of darkness.
If you are of darkness, I can see why you equate all equally because you are dead and cannot tell the difference.
But if you are born of God, how silly to call yourself a reprobate, when God has given you his Spirit and called you a son.
God is angry with the wicked...but with his sons, he loves them, rejoices over them and calls them his own. Keep what God has called clean...clean and what God has called unclean...unclean.

The part claimed to be untrue is that the bill will result in the Bible being banned in CA. I find this exceedingly unlikely.
Let’s do a status check a year from now.
There is little doubt that CA is filled with liberal socialist God-haters and certainly the LGTB lobby there would love to see the Bible banned. That would be a huge Constitutional hurdle, however and I do not think the time is quite ripe for that. But maybe the threat will shake some Christians up out there.

Many get that Nigel, many do not, its just a stepping stone too far for them to see what is coming. If a man only has sight in one eye, partial sight, he can put his telescope to his blind eye and announce he sees no ships and be telling the truth. This sort of thing had already been passed into law in Canada and Sweden quite some time ago, and pastors who have preached from Romans 1 from the pulpit have suffered for it with imprisonment and/or fines.

The two argued and Mr Larmour claimed he was chased by the young man. However, he was the one arrested when the police arrived.
He said: "I think the police should have handled it differently and listened to what I had to say. They should have calmed the boy down and left it at that.
"In court the boy's friend told the truth - that I hadn't assaulted him or called him homophobic names. I had simply answered his question and told him about Adam and Eve and Heaven and Hell. Preaching from the Bible is not a crime.”
At Kilmarnock Sheriff Court last month, Sheriff Alistair Watson ruled there was no case to answer and acquitted Mr Larmour of threatening or abusive behaviour, aggravated by prejudice relating to sexual orientation.
The sheriff also found him not guilty of a second charge of assault aggravated by prejudice relating to sexual orientation."

For several days, we have been receiving texts and emails with concerns about attack that is taking place on Christians and on the WORD OF GOD! .We are all too aware of the ever-increasing assault on our faith and the cultural "sneering” that is being directed at the Bible. We recognize that these things have real-world consequences: they fuel anti-Christian hostility and dramatically influence some with "weak or depraved minds” who are part of our national, state and local governments.
Consider the recent anti-Christian activity taking place in the California state legislature. Assembly Bill 2943 has the potential for impacting free speech, and would ban efforts to share or promote Christian teaching on sexual morality. Its broad reach leaves even simple religious speech on same-sex attraction or activities open to legal action...and threatens the basic human right of freedom of religion.
This Bill, which passed through the California State Assembly last week, now goes to the State Senate.
It would make any transaction attempting to change someone’s sexual orientation unlawful.
It seeks to amend the Consumer Legal Remedies Act (CRLA), a law that protects consumers from sellers who are mischaracterizing their product or service.
It would classify the advertising of or engaging in "gay conversion” therapy or sexual orientation change efforts, as a fraudulent business practice, asserting that the practice of trying to change someone’s sexual orientation is ineffective
It defines such efforts as "any practices that seek to change an individual’s sexual orientation, behaviors or gender expressions, or to eliminate or reduce sexual or romantic attractions or feelings toward individuals of the same sex”.
The inclusion of efforts to change behaviors as a banned activity leads many to believe that the bill could be used to prohibit the promotion of Christian sexual morality - through books, counseling, or teaching - and prevent adults from making decisions for themselves.
This bill inhibits the ability to share "the Gospel’s universal call for repentance and changes in behavior.” As a law, it could result in legal challenges to preachers who discuss sexuality, leading to harassment and legal challenges against preaching, literature, conferences and organizations that address sexual morality. This could include basic Christian and biblical teaching and counseling against unrepentant homosexual conduct -- something to which Bible-believing Christians across America hold.
This could lead to a prohibition on church bookstores selling books or materials which express the biblical and Christian position on unrepentant homosexual conduct, Christian counseling books on LGBT-related issues, and the Bible, considering what it says about homosexual conduct.
The bill clearly includes the sale of any books and materials that counsel according to a Biblical view of sexuality. Just because the bill doesn't say "the Bible is hereby banned" doesn't mean there wouldn't be enforcement against the sale of the Bible…or any other book which asserts that homosexual conduct is wrong.
Many Christians are simply expressing biblical position on sexuality and "drawing fire” for doing so. Anti-Christian groups are seeking the eradication of biblical beliefs and forces opposed to Christian beliefs on sexuality will eventually come against anyone and everyone who stands by biblical truth.
Many in our "fractured” society are openly opposed to the mere expression of biblical truth about sexuality. Part of the gospel message is the clear proclamation and recognition of sin. Without this, Christ's provision on the cross for our sins makes no sense; only with the admission of sin can we enter into true freedom and peace in Christ. We must not compromise on this true gospel message, and must fully trust God to guide us as we continue to do everything we can to win people to Christ. Although many will try to stamp out the gospel message...we must be prepared for this opposition when it comes, and continue proclaiming the truth for as long as we are able to do so! God be with us!
