Dealing with Davids Hunt article. I am not against David Hunt as I love his ministry to Cults and warning against the deception in the Church and such good books as the Seduction of Christianity. I think this is because this generation was immersed in doctrines such as Evolution and Pre Tribulation Theology which was there bread and butter through things like the Schofield Bible.

1) At the Rapture Christ does not return to earth but catches believers up to meet Him above the earth, taking them directly to heaven: "I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also” (Jn:14:3
); "caught up...to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.” (1 Thes:4:17
)
In contrast, at the Second Coming Christ returns to this earth to rule Israel and the world from David’s throne in Jerusalem: "His feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem” (Zec:14:4
); "the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end” (Lk 1:32-33); "And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him....The armies which were in heaven followed him....Out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron” (Rv 19:11-15).
-------------------------------------------
Notice in this Passage we have got no direct context to passages like 1 Thessalonians 4:17 and how do we know that John 14:3. This is prooftexting.
It also assumes the idea of a Rapture and the Second Coming from the getgo with assuming that there are two events.
I wish people would look at 1 Thessalonians 4
-----------------------
16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
--------------------------------
Notice that there is no timing in this passage it does not say that it is at the beginning of the tribulation.

Basically it says in 1 Thessalonians Chapter 5
5 But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.
2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
It says this event is the Day of the Lord and we can do a simple bible study to know what the Day of the Lord is !
Joel 2:31
The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the Lord come.
This is also mentioned in Acts
Acts 2:20
The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and notable day of the Lord come:
The Rapture is basically the Second Coming!
Lets also look at 1 Corithians 15
as he also mentions it in the article
---------------------------
":2) At the Rapture there is a resurrection of all believers who have died up to that time: "The dead shall be raised incorruptible” (1 Cor:15:52-53
); "the dead in Christ shall rise first....” (1 Thes:4:16
)"
------------------------------
1 Corinthians 15
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
-----------------------------------
If you understand this passage this whole passage is to do with resurrection it is one of the oldest passages in the new testament according to scholars.
Note the start, how the beginning of this passage starts
------------------------------
15 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
5 And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:
6 After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.
7 After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles.
8 And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time.
9 For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.
10 But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.
11 Therefore whether it were I or they, so we preach, and so ye believed.
12 Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead?
13 But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen:
----------------------------------
The whole passage is to do with the resurrection and you just need to look at the context to work that out, there is no where in this passage where it says this will happen at the beginning of the tribulation.
The resurrection at the end of days is a concept throughout scripture but the passage that poses a problem for people who believe in the pre tribulation is Revelation 20 as it says there are 2 Resurrections.
Rapture and Resurrection is synonymous.
Rapture is Resurrection!
Rapture is Resurrection!
Rapture is Resurrection!
Rapture is Resurrection!
----------------------------
Rev 20
6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,
8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog, and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.
9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.
10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

8) As for the Rapture, unquestionably, the early church was taught to expect it at any moment and to eagerly watch, wait, and look for Christ’s return, when He will catch all believers up into His Father’s house to be with Him eternally: "Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning; And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord...” (Lk 12:35-36); "For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body” (Phil:3:20-21
); "Ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God; And to wait for his Son from heaven...even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come” (1 Thes:1:9-10
); "looking for that blessed hope” (Ti 2:13); "unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation” (Heb:9:28
). One does not watch, wait, and look each day for something that cannot happen until Antichrist’s advent or the end of a seven-year tribulation. Thus, there must be a coming of Christ that could happen at any moment.
------------------------------------------
I wish you could look at all these verses in context as the proof texting is terrible. Lets believe this to be true. Why didnt the Rapture happen during the life time of the Early Church Fathers. Why does it have to happen when Israel was rebuilt. Anytime could mean back in the first century or during the time of the Protestant Reformation.
If you read Irenaus or any of the early church fathers they understood that they had to face the Antichrist so that the church would be purified.
In this passage in 2 Timothy they are saying that the Resurrection has allready happened. We determined that the Resurrection is the Rapture.

2 Timothy 2
The Lord's Approved Workman
14Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers. 15Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 16But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness. 17And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus; 18Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some. 19Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
