False Prophets Printing America Is Too Young To Die!

Des Jul 2, 2005

This is a copy of an email that I sent to 'ravenhill.org'. - Des Ravenhill, Since I was saved in 1995, I have treasured the works of Leonard Ravenhill. I was drawn back to 'America Is Too Young To Die' after seeing how the secular media poured out its love on Billy Graham and his eccumenical party this past week in New York. Thank God for all that the last twenty-five years have been shown us in evangelism--if it was the real thing. But when the general practitioner cannot solve the patient's sickness, the specialist is brought in. When the evangelists have failed; when the million-dollar crusade leaves little in its wake; when the TV envangelistic show is over; when the Bible schools hang their heads and say, "It is not in us"; when the theologians hide their blushing heads and swing the other way in their swivel chairs; when the seminaries say, "We have heard of the fame of revival with our ears, but we have not formula for it"; when all these helpless ministries fail and the Nation speeds its way to hell; while the Church is looking on--let the righteous cry, and the Lord says He will hear them. Let the house of God become a place of weeping for the glory of the Lord that has departed, and let His anointed cry day and night, "Send us our prophets, O Lord. Let this be the sign that in wrath Thou dost remember mercy." We must fall before Him and be broken to pieces, or we shall fall before Him when He breaks us to pieces. America Is Too Young To Die by Leonard Ravenhill I wanted to share this manna with my brothers and sisters in Christ. I found out that 'America Is Too Young To Die' had recently been reprinted. I searched and found that the publisher 'Christian Life Books' is part of River of Revival Ministries. This ministry is led by Dr. Larry Martin who was a big part of the counterfeit revival in Brownsville, Florida. How can you allow Leonard Ravenhill's works to be published by these false prophets?!? It is shameful! Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. - Matthew 7:15, ESV For false christs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect. - Matthew 24:24, ESV I praise God that there are numerous available copies of the 1979 printing of AITYTD from Bethany Fellowship, Inc. I will collect and share them with my brothers and sisters in Christ who are longing to see TRUE REVIVAL in America. I suggest that you wrestle back the printing rights from these false prophets who are leading many astray! Do not let these Sons of Hades destroy the legacy of Leonard Ravenhill! Depraved in their minds and Deprived of the truth They promise prosperity But the cash they steal from you Will buy the coffin to seal their defeat Agony of Deceit, Steve Camp God bless, DesHis Afflicted Ambassador

After more searching I found my answer to why 'America Is Too Young To Die' is being reprinted by false prophets.David Ravenhill BioDavid’s burden is to see the Church come to maturity through intimacy with God. Ravenhill was born in England in 1942. In 1964 he graduated from Bethany Fellowship Bible College in Minneapolis. He married the same year his wife Nancy. In their early years, David and Nancy served with David Wilkerson's first Teen Challenge Center in New York City. Following that they worked with YWAM (Youth With A Mission) for six years which included two years in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea. From 1973-1988 David was on the pastoral team of one of New Zealand's largest churches, the New Life Center in Christ church. David and Nancy returned to the States in 1988. The following year they joined the leadership team of Kansas City Fellowship under the leader Mike Bickle. Before relocating to their present home in Lindale, Texas, David and his wife lived for eighteen months in Pensacola, Florida where David taught at the Brownsville Revival School of Ministry as well as maintained a busy traveling schedule. During and following his time in Pensacola, David traveled with Evangelist Steve Hill and the Awake America Crusade. David has written two books: For God's Sake Grow Up and They Drank From the River and Died in the Wilderness. Both were published by Destiny Image Publishers. This is sickening! These false prophets are delivering the devil's doctrine. I see that Sermon Index has David Ravenhill sermons available. I will be going now...Purify the temple! Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world. - 1 John 4:1, ESVDesHis Afflicted Ambassador

Leonard Ravenhill preached for the likes of Mike Bickle, and even had William Branham travel with him and a team of others to do evangelistic work in Africa. Yet he was able to do all this without compromising the message of the gospel. Of course he later separated from these men.Not everything that came out of Pennsecola was bad I would add. Yes it was inspired by Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship as admitted by the Kilpatricks themselves in an interview on the 700 Club And yes Pennsecola turned into a raving nut house. BUT in the very beginning, unlike TACF, there were some men of God who preached there and associated for a while with some of the ministers there. Two of which are David Ravenhill, and Michael Brown(who for a while was the president of the school of revival).

Just a thought, but didn't Jesus even preach in the synagogues, and didn't he fill the pulpit of many self-righteous pharisees?

With an understanding heart I agree about what you saying about Brownsville Revival, I beleive it started out correct in repentance, then the flesh and the devil came in, you know the rest. About the works of Leonard Ravenhill taken advantaged of, or lets say the Truth of God's Word, hear what the Apostle Paul said about this in his day:Phi 1:15 Some indeed preach Christ from envy and rivalry, but others from good will. Phi 1:16 The latter do it out of love, knowing that I am put here for the defense of the gospel. Phi 1:17 The former proclaim Christ out of rivalry, not sincerely but thinking to afflict me in my imprisonment. Phi 1:18 What then? Only that in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is proclaimed, and in that I rejoice. Yes, and I will rejoice. God is in control and nothing slips by His watchful eye. Lets us stand together and pray for the only answer the world and the church has, and that is God's Holy Presence coming into our lives and into these circumstances, within a moment of His appearing, SIN will be dealt with, I can assure you. Less talk, MORE praying hearts. Blessings

Des,Easy brother...Joh 7:51 Doth our law judge a man, except it first hear from himself and know what he doeth? On the home page to your right in the top 20 is a four part series from David Ravenhill, been meaning to bring some attention to it as I barely recall any mention of it even though it has been downloaded so many times.Think it may give you a different perspective. There is some video here as well. Try and let go of the presuppositions you have and just listen. I realize the issues you mention here, we have touched on them before. One of our own here has been in Mr. Ravenhills company not to far back and would imagine he could shed further light, but hold off on the accusations, it's not that simple. Why not start with the mans own words first?Edit: Forgot to mention the title of the messages:"Deeper Waters"David Ravenhill

All I can say in response to your post is, "wow"! And I mean that in the most negative way possible. No offense brother... I know Dr. Larry Martin on personal level and he is one of the most humble, holy servants of God I have ever known. I spent a good deal of time with him for a period of about two years and saw nothing but the fruit of the Spirit in his life. He is a man with a great burden for revival who preaches an uncompromising message of holiness. Your accusations of him being a false prophet are based on absolutely nothing but a personal bias held by you and other "arm-chair apostles" who sit behind their computers judging every man and woman who dares attempt to do great things for God. Your zeal for truth is encouraging and full of passion, yet I must say sadly your zeal is not based on knowledge. By knowledge I do not mean things you have read - but first hand experience. I say this with all the love I can muster my dear brother, but be careful with your words - you do not, and I say again you do not have this one right. Prideful "watchmen on the wall", "purify the temple" attitudes do nothing to sway someone with discernment. Your passion is great, yet misdirected. What about the "counterfeit Brownsville Revival" bugs you so bad? Was it the undeniable fruit of mass salvation? Is it the fact that hundreds of men and women (myself included) lives were completely and totally changed? Does it have anything to do with the fact that a sin-loving, perverted, hell-bound pastors son like myself was set free from the bondage of sin and is now in the full-time ministry? Or was it all of the "manifestations" you've read about? I beg some of you to read about the ministry of some of the men and women used in revival that we praise today! Read about Wesley and Finney's meetings and you tell me whether or not you would have been on their side! And NO all of the manifestations that occured in their meetings were not the results of repentance - there were bizarre things that were simply flesh reacting to God's presence! Yet the fruit is undeniable! Does the fact that their picture is in black and white somehow sanitize them? No my friend, we are like the Pharisees who build tombs for the prophets but crucify God's son! My brothers and sisters, I apologize if I sound harsh or sarcastic that is not my aim. But my friends with your words you are slandering people whom I know personally to be men and women of God. They are not prosperity preaching, purpose-driven, your best life now preachers. They are men and women of deep devotion, holiness, and passion! Let us be oh so careful with our words and with our haughty attitudes!Burning,Jeff

Dear Brother Des, I will pray for you. You are truly what you say you are afflicted. May the Lord open your eyes from the bitterness that has darkened your soul. I am not concerned about your words I am concerned for your soul. I have been where you are and can say without fear. You are captured in the gall of bitterness and words will not help you. While you rage and spew at others your own heart falls further and further away from the One you espouse to defend. May the Lord Help you out of your prison dear brother.God Bless

Bitterness? Prison? No, my brother I have an intense concern for the sheep who are being devoured by these ravenous wolves. People are equating truth with an emotional worship experience. The truth of God's Word is being peverted and many are being led astray. I leave with these words on this day of so called Independence, It is for freedom that Christ has set us free.Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves beburdened again by a yoke of slavery. - Galatians 5:1

FireinmyBones1 Jul 4, 2005

What makes them ravenous wolves? Once again I know many of the men you speak of and hint about. I have seen nothing but a humble servant/shepherds heart. I can usually just ignore things like this (because that is the best thing to do). However, knowing one individual you speak of quite well, I'm grieved. Isaiah 11 tells us that the Lords servant will not judge by what he sees with his eyes or by what he hears with his ears. I'm afraid this is what is being done. You have heard rumors, visited websites, etc... speaking negatively of these men and have adopted these views as your own. I, however, as one whoes life was changed during the Brownsville revival, and whoes life was deeply affected by Dr. Larry Martin whom you call a false prophet, have a much different view. Eli made this same mistake when he, with no discernment, looked upon Hannah and judged her as being drunken. Little did he know that this woman was birthing the next great move of God in the spirit. Yet because Eli judged by what his natural eyes and ears saw and heard he superimposed an image of a drunken woman over a desperate woman. Her voracious hunger for God to act on her behalf became to him an intoxicated woman whoes actions were the result of sin. What a shame! You recall when the children were crying in the temple "Hosanna to the son of David!" The pharisees were upset by this, for they judged with their natural senses. Jesus however, saw it as a fulfillment of prophecy! What differing views! My dearest brother, I beg you to take the time to judge these things by the Spirit of God! Not by your bias's! Please don't answer me back, either in your mind or by a post with an "I already have!" answer. Please my brother - these are precious brothers whom I know personally!Did you know that Dr. Larry Martin was a dry, cold, backslidden college president just under ten years ago? He was a cynical, backslidden man who was also a skeptic and a critic of the Brownsville Revival. Although he was/is an incredible student of Church/Revival history, when the real thing was before him in the present tense, he couldn't see it. That is until God got a hold of his life at a revival meeting. His whole life was changed. He was given a book and a video from Brownsville and as he watched did nothing but weep and pray the whole next day. He repented of his old life and changed his ways! Now he is one of the most on fire, humble, men of prayer that I know. Yet when we judge things on a surface level, we tend not to see these things. My dear brother, you have called Dr. Martin a false prophet and yet you have only backed this claim by stating that he played a big part in the Brownsville Revival. First of all he was only present at Brownsville for about 2 1/2 years and that was when things were slowing down a bit. If this is the only evidence you have for labeling a man as a false prophet, you need to tremble. Let us be careful with our words - we will give an account for every one of them. My dear brother I say this in love and with a broken heart!Burning,Jeff

Hey Des, I do not know how wel this complies with what we are talking about here but it seems as though the apostle Paul had no problem dealing with the wicked. I think, i'm stupid and overlook things sometimes so i may be wrong. but in 1 Cor 8But concerning the sacrifices to idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up. But if anyone thinks to know anything, he still has known nothing as he ought to know. But if anyone loves God, he has been known by Him. Then concerning the eating of things sacrificed to idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is no other God except one. For even if some are called gods, either in the heavens or on the earth; (even as there are many gods, and many lords); but to us there is one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we for Him, and one Lord Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and we by Him. But the knowledge is not in all; but some being aware of the idol eat as an idolatrous sacrifice until now; and their conscience being weak is defiled. But food will not commend us to God. For neither if we eat do we excel, nor if we do not eat are we lacking. But be careful lest this authority of yours become a cause of stumbling to the weak ones. For if anyone sees you, the one having knowledge, sitting in an idol-temple, will not the weak one's conscience be lifted up so as to eat things sacrificed to idols? And on your knowledge the weak brother will fall, he for whom Christ died. And sinning in this way against your brothers, and wounding their conscience, being weak, you sin against Christ. On account of this, if food offends my brother, I will not at all eat flesh forever, so that I do not offend my brother. (1Co 8:1-13 LITV)And so I could see that maybe these record labels being called antichrists and false prophets, but it seems that these temples would be places of antichrists and false prophets and it seems he has no problem with them identifying with tehm except thtat it cause the weak to sin. And so it sounds like the artists associating with the antichrist may not be antichrists but maybe misguided brothers at worst.tryin to figure this one out,MattEDIT (wow sorry about my apparent lack of spelling ability, but I'm gonna leave it so I can look and stay humble :) )

Greetings,

I know this is an old topic, but I wanted to bring some fresh information and clarity to this.

The book "America is too young to die" has run out of print and copyright years ago. For a while it was public domain until Leonard Ravenhill's sons took back the copyrights a little while ago. Their goal is to reprint their father's books that have run out and are freed by publishing houses. From all account, even these publishing houses haven't been faithfully paying Leonard's his dues, which he was using to support his sons in mission fields.

Some people have reprinted Leonard's books in the meantime - without permission or without contacting the Ravenhill's family. So you will find a few of Leonard's books on Amazon.com who are not published by the family. I even found one signed by a different person, a minister. The seller presents it as "autographed by the author." The signature isn't Leonard Ravenhill's.

And as making accusations regarding David's journey in ministry, it is shameful and without foundation. Read his material and listen to his sermons online. They speak for themselves.

Hope this helps,

Blessings,

Andre Lefebvre

Bitterness? Why is it "bitter" to call a spade a spade?
I think you are being very unfair to him, and judgmental.
If you call him "bitter" i wonder what you would call the Old Testament prophets! By your standard we would even have to label Leonard Ravenhill "bitter".
