Zac Poonen

I felt a lot in my life was influenced by Zac Poonen's ministry, until recently, when my whole outlook on the CFC changed. I felt it was a lot of misogyny, holding women to a higher standard (things like, it is "more" sinful for a woman to watch pornography than a man: I heard this preached by ZP at CFC Bangalore a while ago, so sorry, I don't have the link to a video to support this statement). The thing that struck me most is that their churches are pretty unwelcoming to new-comers. ZP and the CFC/RLFC do not support any missionary organizations, so what is their role in the Great Commission? I relied a lot on the Sermon Index during the initial days of my Christian life, and I send this question out in the sincerity that someone would help me understand what I am missing here since ZP has been at the top of the SI speakers for as long as I remember.

Dear sister,

Why lay down accusations against brethren in Christ and then apologize if it violates principles? Why not first seek the principles of Scripture on speaking evil of a brother and causing division? Why not consider the principle of being reconciled to a brother before bringing your gift before the Lord?

Please note that I am not speaking evil of a brother or laying down accusations. Read my OP carefully, I am seeking clarification on the doctrinal standpoint. In the Lord, I have been commanded to "test all things and hold fast to what is good" and I am doing just that.

I was not asking about individuals supporting missionaries, but I was asking if the church itself supports missions. Most churches "send out" missionaries and support them consistently. If not for this practice, you and I would not be believers today.

Interesting to note, that you pointed out head coverings, when my OP did not point it out at all. I was merely referring to women being held to a higher standard to men ( I also stated precisely in what context.)

I think I am not the only person who felt unwelcome in CFC. I know many others who attended the church for a year or more, and then left because of this reason. However, as there is no way to compare experiences from this standpoint, I will refrain from posting about this.

I wonder why I have to share with the elders at CFC. I have already stated my reasons clearly for why I am posting here.

I did have links with me, but none of the files I was referring to is no longer available on the CFC website!! They have taken it down. I need to check my cellphone to see if I downloaded any of the files when I listened to them. But, that does not negate the fact that I listened to it in any case.

I myself have been greatly helper through his teachings, but am not agreeing with everything. I would suggest not to build upon a man, but upon Christ. You can learn from many preachers but all of them have mistakes and certain doctrinal issues or personal issues. What I see in the body of Christ that we sometimes (and I myself have did it many times) build on one man... "I follow Paul, I follow Apollos, I follow Paul Washer, I follow Zac Poonen, I follow Leonard Ravenhill".

At this moment I listen to many different preacher and I am being influenced by all of them. But if they fall or going wrong on certain issues, my faith is not shaken. That would be my suggestion.

About the points that you say:
- About women in porn being more sinfull, I would love to read the entire article. I understand that you don't have it at the moment, but then I would ask broter Zac himself what he believes in that area. I never heared him say this.
- About being unwelcome. What do you mean by that? What was unwelcome?
- About support missionaries. I could imagine that they support missionaires as believers, but not as "CFC". Our own fellowship (not a CFC fellowship) is not supporting a missionary as an entire body, but many brothers/sisters are giving people that support the missionwork in many ways including financially. So if you assume that they don't give because they don't have official missionaries, I would ask CFC what they think and how they support missions. Maybe you would be surprised ;-)

1] If Bro.Zac said something I didn't agree with, I would ask Bro. Zac about it. I hear he answers his mail, abundant as it probably is. Misogyny [dislike of/contempt for/ingrained prejudice against women] is a strong word with which to label a brother or a group of brethren. I haven't heard anything from him that even remotely sounds misogynous.

2] How do you mean 'unwelcoming'? No one smiled and/or greeted you at the door? Or after the service? Don't mean to grill you but I'm not sure what you mean by "unwelcoming".

3] Supporting missionary organizations isn't the only way to fulfill the great commission, you know. I don't see how that should be a problem. Again, I would ask them directly.
