Answer to a question about the trib and the arabs

In one thread here , we were discussing the "first resurrection" and the tribulation. I made a statement about Israel signing a peace treaty with the arabs, thus beginning the 7 year trib. Somebody asked me for bible reference. It is as follows:Dan 9:25 Know therefore and understand that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem until [the coming of] the Anointed One, a Prince, shall be seven weeks [of years] and sixty-two weeks [of years]; it shall be built again with [city] square and moat, but in troublous times. Dan 9:26 And after the sixty-two weeks [of years] shall the Anointed One be cut off or killed and shall have nothing [and no one] belonging to [and defending] Him. And the people of the [other] prince who will come will destroy the city and the sanctuary. Its end shall come with a flood; and even to the end there shall be war, and desolations are decreed. [Isa. 53:7-9; Nah. 1:8; Matt. 24:6-14.] Dan 9:27 And he shall enter into a strong and firm covenant with the many for one week [seven years]. And in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and offering to cease [for the remaining three and one-half years]; and upon the wing or pinnacle of abominations [shall come] one who makes desolate, until the full determined end is poured out on the desolator. I am of the belief that the anti-christ will be a dynamic religious leader, more so than a political leader. The world "seems" hell bent on embracing "Islam". The USA is a leader in promoting it's "world dominance". So therefore, this person Daniel is speaking of would be an arab muslim leader who will make an aliance with Israel. This is the beginning of the trib, as I understand it.I'm not saying I'm right. I'm just stating what little I know about it. My life is not wrapped up in end time events. This day may be my last. That is what concerns me the most. But somebody asked me a fair question. Since I could not find the thread, I decided to post my answer here. I hope the one who asked the question gets my answer. Again, I'm not saying I'm right, I'm only stating what seems evident to me from what I see, and what the scriptures tell us.In Him,Lahry

Dear Brother Laurey,It seems to me that what you state in your post about the tribulation is likely the way it will happen.It is my understanding that the 70 weeks of years understanding of Daniel chapter 9 that you quote has only been understood for a little over 100 years. One place in the word it says that knowledge will increase and I believe that the 70 weeks of years understanding is a revelation that has been given us in more modern times. There are things in the book of Revelation that aren't revealed yet along with other understanding in the rest of the Word, especially in our personal understanding of the Word. In saying this, new revelation is not to be rejected just because it wasn't understood 1900 years ago by the early church. The important thing is that it fits with the rest of the Word. If it doesn't then it needs to be rejected.With this said, to reject the pre-tribulation rapture teaching with the idea that the early church did not have a pre-tribulation rapture expectation or maybe didn't even have a 7 year tribulation expectation is not a good enough reason to reject the understanding that God gives us today. One thing is for sure, they expected Jesus back very soon and we are to live our lives in that same expectation today and live our lives as if he is coming today.In Christ,GaryE

Thanks for your post. I have heard so many good arguments with scriptural support to line up with pre-trib, mid-trib, and post trib dead in Christ shall rise first. It was not until about a year ago, that I discoverd the passage in Rev 20 about the first resurrection that I made up my mind that there cannot be two "firsts" and that this resurrection is definitely at the end of the trib. I was also amazed that not all the dead in Christ will reign with Him for a thousand years as I had been taught. This truth really cleared up many of the questions I had. I think we will all be surprised and amazed at how God will bring His Word to pass. God bless you real good today. Amen, we should live each day like it's our last.In Him,Lahry

I rember your original post and enjoyed reading it. I guess I like what the late Keith Green used to say, "I'll prepare to go through the trib but if I go pre-trib I want to be ready".
