London Bombing....Judgement?!

M
Marc_W Jul 7, 2005

Matt 24 warns of the coming events that we are now in. I recently got a DVD where Oral Roberts receieved a vision of judgement and spoke of such things as happened today. The DVD is called The Wake-Up Call! This is very real, my wife works in a major London Hospital and this is what she sent me this morning while the bombs were exploding:The closest bomb to us was 5 minutes walk up the road at Edgeware Rd Station (one following Paddington). The ambulances are coming quite regularly (we can see from our window) and loads of emergency staff are standing at the ambulance bays waiting to assist casualties. One lady on the news gave an account of the doors being blown off the train carriage and when they had to get out, they had to walk past dead bodies on the tracks...so I'm not sure how many deaths have been. Interested to hear the general thought of all this.

I am reminded of how there were some in Israel who misunderstood the timing of God's judgement - that is, when the people were worshipping false gods, no harm came to them. But when they superficially embraced godly reform - that is, put away their idols for a time, God's judgment finally arrived. They mistakenly reasoned however that this "judgment" was happening because they no longer were worshipping idols - reaoning that at least when they were worshipping idols there was no judgment. In this same way, I imagine someone could mistake God's judgment - that is, they might imagine that God is "judging England" for her stand on terrorism, or something like that. If judgment -is- coming to England it certainly isn't coming because of her stand against terrorism - rather it is coming because God is calling her to repent.I like Christ's response: The victims upon whom the tower in Siloam fell were no worse sinners than anyone else - but unless you repent you will likewise perish. I think that is the message - not just for London, but even as we read six times in revelation - the message is for the church - repent.Dan/\\/\\/\\

England is in a war... that is why she was bombed. God's judgement? Perhaps. But England has taken the right side of a war on terrorism, and sometimes taking a stand against evil means evil things will be done to her. If God's judgement was falling on England, or here in the US, it surely would not end with 40 people dead, or 2,000 as was the case here.I dont know this as fact, but I do not think too people thought God's judgement was coming on England during the blitzkreig of the Nazi's. Certainly Churchill did not think this. He understood that evil came knocking... and it needed to be dealt with. England stood strong and fought that evil.As an American who is descended of many folks who came from England in the 1600 & 1700's... my prayer is y'all over there stand strong and dont let this event rattle your resolve.Krispy

I am appalled that the London bombings should be talked of in such a manner as has been writtenI personally think that it is distasteful to have the Bombings in London today, as a talking subject under the heading of "London Bombing....Judgement?!"So you are saying that this is Gods Judgment to London. To kill and to maim and to cause pain and suffering to their family's. No God did not do these evil things today.God did not do these evil things today. "MAN DID IT" Those that did it will be Judged by God.The Posting should be taken off the lounge.

Dear Ellie,Had not even known anything of this until just a cursory reading of these things here... I would have to agree with you that this is certainly the wrong time to be making any kinds of assumptions if any where needed in the first place. But I think it needs to be left up for just these reasons that you pointed out. I hope we might pray for those who have been affected, my goodness, what happened?

~There were 7 explosions althogether - top of a bus, several underground stations and one train. Not sure of details but know people in London who are all ok. Don't know if I know someone who isn't, yet. Here's a link. Just please don't go there if you're fainthearted. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/in_depth/uk/2005/london_explosions/default.stm

i dont think some bombs going off is the judgemnt of God.. i think we will know when God pours out his wrath over a nationThats kind of the point I was trying to make.Ellie... in America freedom of speech is abused, but it is also a point of healing. We are not free on this site to spout off anything we wish... but I am glad that when something like this does happen, we are free to talk about it. Some people will see this as God's judgement. Some of our "tele-vangelist" called 911 God's judgement on America for her moral decline. I dont think it was... in the Bible when God poured out his judgement the moral decline ceased. America's moral decline has only increased.Bombs go off everyday in Israel. We dont hear Christians saying thats God's judgement on Israel. Wanna see what God's judgement looks like? Think about Sodom. Or better yet... Jerusalem in 70 AD.911 happened for one reason and one reason only... it happened because we (or shall I say our government) buried it's head in the sand and ignored a growing problem. Now we are in a war... and London was bombed because she has stood up against evil.God bless England.Krispy

There are quite stiking similarities between the bus in London and the bus in Jerusalemedit:In both situations innocent peolple pay the price for nothing what-so-ever. :-(

sinner's only know to do that which is in their nature. god didn't put hard things on job it was the devil. We ask and attack the cross saying why God? when we should have on our armor and having done all stand. The battle is not ours it is the Lords.Be of good cheer for he has over come the world.

The Towers Have Fallen But We Missed The MessagePerhaps this is a good time to revisit this sermon by Bro. Wilkerson.

Quote"I like Christ's response: The victims upon whom the tower in Siloam fell were no worse sinners than anyone else - but unless you repent you will likewise perish. I think that is the message - not just for London, but even as we read six times in revelation - the message is for the church - repent."Let me add up what Jesus said when asked about the people whose blood Pilot mingled with their sacrifices- He said if you don’t repent you’ll all like wise perish- That was what just happened in 70AD when Titus poured their blood in the temple until it was said 1.5 million Jews perished until their blood quenched the city’s fire! (its actually written in the History of The Destruction of Jerusalem) So those happening on few was a foreshadow of what will come on large scale UNLESS YOU REPENT- says Jesus! Of course this is Satan’s doing but WHY WAS HE ALLOWED?! Why was Titus allowed? Why was Nabukadanazzar allowed?! These was means God used to chastise his people and after ward this people who wiped Jerusalem were judged themselves! If we simply shun this things O this is the doing of Satan- we will reach anywhere- and what happened to Jerusalem in 70AD is a foreshadow of what will come to the World on the final Day! About Sodom and Gomorrah- and the sulfur and fire that fell on the homosexuals and on that society- Isn’t HIV/AIDS more than that- where was it discovered first ?wasn’t it in homosexuals?! If you see someone die with HIV his body consumed and for many days seeing his body eaten up its horrible! (Its easy to witness that in the third world country like me who stood No. 3 in HIV case) And it spread from there to the whole world! I say not because I don’t feel but Christ’s message have to be heeded that says IF YOU DON’T REPENT! It means you will be given over if you don’t repent and there’s no exceptional! The town that was cheering and sprinkling champagne on the street (because it won the Olympic hosting victory for 2012) is now for all of us a reminder that the last day will be like the days of Noah when every body was cheering the flood came- The state of London will be much more convenient to God now that it was the day before yesterday- I’m not judging here- I know what it means to live in a war-ridden country, in a country with No. 1 famine and HIV/AIDS- I know what it means to loose brothers, sisters, fathers, mothers but I rather not take humanistic view on what happened in London – I will pray that the City will be awakened for God!Your sis. But England has taken the right side of a war on terrorism, and sometimes taking a stand against evil means evil things will be done to her. The war on terrorism is a pretext to take away liberty. This is why they were bombed. I don't trust the British (or American) government. These are one worlders in charge. Don't forget it. I wouldn't be surprised if this was caused by the British government itself. (Everyone is free to disagree with me. Please don't be offended at my opinion) ;-) This is my sincere belief and if anyone wants to PM me, I can tell you why....when I get some time in between counselling, meetings, and services. :-P :-? I saw this and just had to comment.RT

ellie writesThe Posting should be taken off the lounge.elliepersonally I am glad to see the post here. I'll explain why. I am reluctant to comment on 'God's judgments' as occasionally appears in these forums when they happen somewhere else. But now that the finger is pointing closer to home I feel a bit more free to comment. I spent 10 minutes waiting for a tube on Edgeware Road station earlier this week; this is very close to home.Dann has drawn our attention to the key scripture. The fact is that there is a connection between sin and suffering, but we have to be very careful how we join the dots between and a specific sin and a specific suffering. Personally I believe 'judgment' is God's strange or unusual work and evangelicals tend to rush into their own judgments of God's judgments far too readily.RT writes I don't trust the British (or American) government. These are one worlders in charge. Don't forget it. I wouldn't be surprised if this was caused by the British government itself. I am not offended, but I am appalled at your position. It is a position so extreme and ill-judged that it is going to be difficult to prevent it affecting my reading of everything you post from this point onwards.

The DVD is called The Wake-Up Call!I wouldn't pay too much creedance to this man's words. I know he is old and we all make mistakes etc etc but there comes a point when you got to draw the line and say that someone has lost any validity to be called a prophet. There will come a day of judgment yes, as there have been in the past. But in this "day" since God was in Christ reconciling the world to himself, not counting men's tresspasses against them" he is in the business of drawing men to Christ not blowing them out of busses.

in the Bible when God poured out his judgement the moral decline ceased. When I read this, I had to think of what is written in Revelation. The words from Revelation are relevant to our society today. The endtime in which we live is characterized by at least two aspects (I include the tribulation):1. God will increasingly pour out His wrath upon the earth (note: speaking about the time of the tribulation, not the day in which we live right now. This day is characterized by Luke 21:25 e.g.: "on the earth dismay among nations, in perplexity at the roaring of the sea and the waves" - tsunami -) 2. Despite the painful and horrific events that will take place there will be an utter indifference to all that is taking place:"For the coming of the Son of Man will be just like the days of Noah."For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and they did not understand until the flood came and took them all away; so will the coming of the Son of Man be. (Matthew 24:37-39)No repentance. No ceasing of moral decline..."...they did not repent so as to give Him glory."(Rev 16:9)I can only give my amen to what sister Mekdi quoted from Luke 13. That's the message! Not whether this was a judgement from God or not...but a call to repentance and getting serious with the Lord again. In Him,Pauledit: I think we too easily mix up "judgements from God" with the "results of sin". There's a vast difference between the two.

Ellie... I hope now you can see this thread is really quite remarkable. When things like this happen, people need to talk about it. It's quite healing and very thought provoking.RT... my brother... you know I'm in your corner on most things, but I have to say that right now was probably the worst time to voice your opinion on who was the cause of the explosions. Free speech is wonderful... but if it is used recklessly and irresponsibly it often times becomes a negative thing. I think that opinion could have waited until things settled down. There is no way any reasonable discussion about that opinion can happen right now.Whoever it was who referred to Oral Roberts... Paul exhorts us to mark and avoid false teachers, and Oral Roberts is definitely one that needs to be avoided at all costs. I wouldnt recommend you trust him to predict the weather. Krispy

I think I don't understand the cultural difference of the people who speak on here. I was born in 1950 and I am English through and through (Not Britannia etc).It just seems to me that, who are we to so flippantly say its Gods Judgment. Should we not pray to him first to see if that is so. Who are we to take precedence over God? I don't think he will be very happy about this. Perhaps we should concentrate getting on our knees and asking him and fervently praying for the people who this has affected. The scripture verses don’t impress me. There are always scripture verses to cover all events of life. It does not mean they apply to every situation, of which there are many, of death and maiming. It is 10.00pm and the news is on and I see some of the people in hospital being visited by the Queen and Prince Charles. And then more pictures of yesterday’s events. Bodies still to be recovered from the underground. One carriage they have not yet reached as it is in a narrow tunnel, what will they find I wonder.God has been saying to his people this year to pray. It is a necessary ingredient to life and a requirement of God.His people who are the salt of the earth, are required by God, to pray for the earth and all that is on the earth. It is a basic function of belonging to him. This is how God will be able to intervene in the terrorist acts taking place all over the world. And other important matters pertaining to him.I will leave it there.Ellie.
