In matthew 9:15-17 Jesus answers the question as to why His disciples didn't fast. He then discusses old and new wineskins.
I never understood how Jesus was connecting fasting to old and new wineskins. Obviously, the two are connected because it is part of Jesus' response, but to me they seemed like two separate comments.
I read this today which clarified this for me. Hopefully it helps someone else who may be having this difficulty.
