Gladys Aylward was a British missionary who preached and ran an orphanage in Yangcheng, Shanxi, China. When the Japanese came, she fled with 100 children (ages from 3 to 16) over the mountains and after a most difficult journey, by much faith and prayer and the mighty hand of God, finally reached free China. There Gladys collapsed in total physical and mental exhaustion. When her health was restored, God led Gladys to preach to 500 priests in a Tibetan lamasery in north-western China (!).
