Thoughts on 'Luck'

Hi guys and girls,I just wanted to get your opinions on 'Luck'.For as long as I can remember, I have always said, "Good Luck" to someone for various reasons. I have said "Good Luck" or "Lucky you" or "I must be lucky" and etc. numerous times. When I first started dating my wife, she asked me one day, "Do you believe in Luck?" I said that I didn't. She then asked me why I talk like I do believe in luck. It made me think. If I believe in God and Jesus and I am a child of God. Do I believe in "random chance"?Ever since then I do not use the word luck as I have mentioned previously.I am not trying to convince everyone to stop saying, "Good luck". I was wanting some thoughts on this subject.

I have been convicted of the same thing.I have been trying to stop using lucky phrases. Still finding it slip out here and there. O Lord Jesus I pray for the Grace to overcome.

There is no such thing as luck. I used to say "good luck" all the time but the Lord showed me primarly through the verse below and I have been convicted ever since. There are other verses on this subject but the one in James is the only one that comes to mind."Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain: Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that." (James 4:13-15)
