Thoughts on Ministering to God

"How do you bless the Lord, can the lesser bless the greater? How do you bless the Lord? By acknowledging his blessedness, by speaking forth his attributes by crying out his works, by making known his goodness, his greatness, his holiness, his righteouness, taking in as much as you can of the attributes of God the workings of God and speaking them forth to the throne of God. Worshiping Him, Praising Him, Thanking Him, demonstration of gratidude, demonstrations of tears, demonstration of God. You are everything we desire, everything we need, everything we want, you have been there for us in everytime.” Paul Washer

...what must happen in order for us to minister to the Lord? It involves two preparatory things: "draw near" and "stand before Me". We cannot offer anything or do anything until we first draw near to Him and stand before Him. I wonder: how much time have we spent just standing (or sitting or kneeling or lying) before the Lord, just to minister to Him? Is this the foundation for everything we do, or is it an occasional thing we experience, as we try to fit Him into our busy schedule? The Lord of the work is more important than the work of the Lord!” Chip Brogden

"...to minister to the Lord in this way means a complete and thorough death to Self. You see, in the outer court you might be a "somebody", but in the inner court you are a "nobody", because in the inner court Christ has the preeminence as All in All. There is no room for our ego or our title or our position. We are shielded from the prying eyes of others, hidden from the praise and the criticism of men.” Chip Brogden

Many years ago, after regeneration through Christ finished work on the cross. I would go into our apartments bonus room. Lay on my back for hours at times and just praise and Worship Almighty God. He would visit with me in those days. In different ways.

My understanding of scripture was basic at best. Knowing Christ died for my sins. Knowing I was forgiven through Jesus death and resurrection, and that I had received inward freedom from habitual sins I had before been enslaved too!

Little did I know then that those nights of communication with God were taking place within His inner court. I was laying in God’s Throne Room! Simply asking Him about His day, how He was doing. Thanking Him for the beautiful creation my eyes could see. Praising and worshiping Him as I knew Him then. This pleased God!

I wish I could say I kept coming back to His Throne Room in this matter until the present time. To minister unto Him, but I did not! I started reading commentaries, and writing sermons, giving Sunday school lessons, and pointing others to Christ, and reading all the classics in Christendom, staying up all night to study, ect. Instead of spending time with Him. I was praying more for the work that seemed to be needed done, then just communicating with Him, worshiping Him and ministering to Him firstly. I see now all that busyness had slowly taken first place in my life. The place that should had been reserved for Him alone!

Rev 2:4-5,7 "…I have this against you, that you have left your first love. Therefore, remember from where you have fallen, and repent, and do the deeds you did at first; or else I am coming to you and I will remove your lampstand from its place””unless you repent.” "The one who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who overcomes, I will grant to eat from the tree of life, which is in the Paradise of God.” NASB

We can do a lot of different work for the Lord and stay busy bodies within many Christian affairs. Are we however putting our ministering to our Lord firstly though? It is our most important duty as Priest to Him who called us unto Himself. I myself have repented, setting back up what most come first, God Himself.

Blessing in Christ brethren,

May He sort each one of us out and get us back on the path we started on long ago. Ministering to Him firstly and foremost.

amen billy, it just about being with god isn't it and separating our selves from the blessings and liberty we have in Christ and sitting and the foot of the cross the one who blessed us, he's coming to you soon, and me and others just sit at the cross for wile each day and night and he will work the death of the cross into our new life we have, to die is to live again, god could easily just fill us with his fire, but he wants us all to seek him in faith and believe that he will bring us to that place of personal and communal awakening, double portions are coming let the thirst and hunger grow , I know its painful ,let us intercede for ourselves till he comes in faith, he's coming, we have asked and we will receive!

Thank you brother Gary! This one from Brother Katz has been the clearest I have heard on it so far in this light of Priest Unto God, ministering to God. It seems there are a few ways to discuss this. Picking up our cross, Being True Priest unto God, being alive through Christ alone, Baptism of Fire!

I'm seeking God the Father to through His Spirit put these truths deep within me, and rid me of anything that is offensive to Him! Everything that is not of Jesus!

I'm thankful for this site, for these sermons that point us Christ-ward! For all the brethren, to listen to their walks with God, their experiences with Him, where they are now concerning scripture, and their maturity in Christ!

I'm at work right now. I do feel our Lord's presence as I started reading this from you! Thankyou for the encouragement through our Lord. I Pray He has His way with each of us and burns all the dross away so we are truly useful to our Mighty God!

If anyone knows any other sermons here on Ministering unto God as Priest, please put them down here so I can seek through the precious Holy Spirit to learn inwardly from them, and follow Christ!

Im sitting there dear brother. Kneeled down and listening!
