The keys of Hades and Death

Revelation 1:18 (NKJV)I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death.So, The Lord Jesus Christ has the keys of Hades and of Death.Questions:1. Has He always had them?2. If not, when did He get them? where did He get them from? and who did He get them from?

Someone with more knowledge may be able to answer your question better, but having said that:I have always believed that when Christ died on the cross and rose on the third day, he conquered death and therefore has the "key". I don't believe there are physical keys to Hades and Death, but that Jesus has they way out...the means of escaping.Hope this makes sense and doesn't add confusion.
