What the Church needs to-day is not more machinery or better, not new organizations or more and novel methods, but men whom the Holy Ghost can use, men of prayer, men mighty in prayer. The Holy Ghost does not flow through methods, but through men. He does not come on machinery, but on men. He does not anoint plans, but men, men of prayer.

Amen. I just purchased the collected works of E.M. Bounds and he certainly had an eloquent yet simple way of stating profound truths. Just think he was already seeing the church beginning to trust more in their methods than in the simple relational means of spreading the gospel and it is obvious that many didn't listen. It is sad to see that this statement and others like it are still ignored at best and often attacked by believers themselves. Yet it is still true that the Lord's greatest earthly assets are the faithful servants who commit themselves fully to obey Him in all things. Nothing more is needed. Thank you for the reminder. Now to pull out that book and mine it for more nuggets of truth from this departed servant of God.

What thoughts are coming to you, about what is happening today, how are you going to keep your faith or maintain a clear conscience in times like this.

How can we help the church from being disillusioned and disheartened, to be blameless and remain faithful.

How about your friends, your family, your wife and children how are you going to keep them safe from evil and falling away from the Lord.

It is indeed too much of a burden but we have keep our faith though how exhausted we are and ask the Lord to search us, lead us, and deliver us from evil.
