Surgery in the morning

I'm here in Fargo, ND now with my pastor and his wife and my brother. We are staying right across the street from the hospital which I am due to report to and check in at 5am in the morning. Then my bypass surgery will take place. My pastor just had the same type of surgery at the same hospital by the same doctors a few months ago. Lift me if you would. Thank you.

Yesterday was the worst day of pain I have ever had. The tubes in me caused it. Supposed to get them out today. Surgery was succesful

Brother David, Mr. Bill is praying for you. I had a triple bypass on February 7th 2015, I can relate to the tubes, seriously uncomfortable, I wanted to pull mine out. I know it's painful, my Doc wanted me up and walking the next day, I would not get out of my bed for about 4 days, but once I did get up and start waking around, I did start feeling a little better. Hopefully you will have someone nearby to help you with your recovery when you get home, I didn't have anyone because my wife of 40 years passed in 2012, but eventually, my daughter allowed my 10 year old grandson to come over and help me, as she had/has a job, and he was really a blessing. David, in my opinion, I'm grateful I had the bypass, instead of the stents, I've heard it's a lot better. Mr. Bill is praying for a full recovery, and you're back up and getting around soon.

Thank you MrBillPro. The doctor said the procpedure/surgery went well. He was pleased. The surgery was on Monday and being honest, Tuesday was the most painful day of my life. Immediately upon waking up from the surgery, I was acutely aware of one very painful spot in in my back. I mean it hurt. We medicated it and changed my position in the bed and the chair in the room several times but it helped only a little. They decided it was likely the drainage tubes in my chest they had to leave in. One of them or part of them was probably laying on a nerve maybe in that part of my lower back. The doctor came and took another look and decided the drainage was not enough so he didn' want to but he left it in another night. It was like having a cracked rib. I could not breath well. The pain was electrifying. Well, he came around the next morning and his assistant took the tubes out and within two minute all the pain was gone! The nurses told that having trouble with the tubes in one's chest is the number one complaint they get after heart surgery. It was an ordeal but I'm through it. PTL! Thanks for asking about me.⁸

Thanks. I went into Afib last night for about 3 hours in the early morning.. That is higher than a normal heart rate. But it slipped back into the proper mode and rate. I was tired this morning and they said it was likely due to the high rate my heart went into. They said it makes one tired. Now this afternoon, I actually feel pretty good. Very little and mostly no pain.

I'm going to be released to go home tomorrow. Lots of work ahead though.

Pls pray for me if you are inclined. I came home yesterday and didn't realize how shot I am! I'm delicate and have little stamina. It's going to get better. But I'm really just beginning that process right now.

Praise God you are on the mend! Do you walk at all? My pastor's friend had open heart surgery and he started walking after surgery (what he could) around his neighborhood and he got better much quicker the doctor said. Just trying to encourage you!

Another story about walking... My father-in-law had emphysema and he went to the mall walked in the wee hours every morning and he stayed off oxygen for 10 + years. It really lengthened his life.

Since I'm talking about this... I need to walk more myself!!!

Every time I walk I feel better. I have been walking every day since the surgery. I walked a bit inside today. Going to get back to more tomorrow. Walking I think is going to be my main key to getting my stamina back.
