Draw me within the vail---
Away from earth's hurly-burly;
Out here, fierce stormy gale:
In there, infinite tranquility!

Draw me within the veil,
Wherein abideth infinite peace ---
A hush that can never fail --
Ever-abiding; never can cease!

What lust; what pleasure,
Hath kept me outside, O Lord,
From it, sever thou me, thy treasure;
Thy Son's eternal crown and reward!

To be knighted, I must kneel;
A crown is only for bended knees:
Prayer is the way! Prayer is the wheel!
Draw me within! All my aches ease!
