''I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.''
The whole and sole duty of a man, is to say 'yea' to the will of God, on the first part; and 'nay' to his and devil's, on the second part: and God's will is done within a specific given time allowed to every man by the prediterminate counsel of God. Our Lord was mindful of His night, when all works are suspended, hence He was solicitous to work while it was day. It is night with those who are old and cannot manage their body by themselves again; it is night with any, who lies on his dead bed, only waiting to be conveyed to the other world; but it is day with the healthy, the young: above all, it is day with those who are free from the impediments of sin. Sin can throw a thick blanket of night upon us, thereby making us unfit and indisposed to work. It is always night with a sinner; the dogs of conscience are frequently barking at him. Samson's lusts drew a night cloud on his ministry: sin shifted him to a night region, where he could no longer work. Brothers, we shall not always be this strong in our body: for this body has a league with death and desolution because of sin, so whilst in it, let us labour ere its night comes. A healthy and strong body; clear sight, and sound mind fit a man for kingdom exploits: saints, pray we mind our health. The devils attack not only our testimonies, but our body also: for to testify, a strong and healthy body is needed. A witness who is out of his element can neither be a competent or credible witness. Oh beloved, draw not a night on your own body by carelessness: please nourish and cherish it, for that is your vehicle!
