For my knees at the throne of grace,
And there pour out my whole heart
To whom alone can show me the path
To peace, joy and life everlasting!
Oh draw me thither, oh Lord of my being!

Except thou callest and drawest,
Who can come to thee for rest?
Man is twice dead to heaven:
But double alive to this canal haven!
Call me! Draw me to thyself:
Arise! Be wakeful Oh shiftless self!
