My faith's hand, wrapped
I, around the cross of Calvary:
In its embrace, am I trapped---
Oh to ever abide in this captivity:
I look for and do no good:
To Jesus only I look---
Gazing ever on that cruel wood,
A bridge to God's cleansing brook!
At the bar in the upper world,
His name nameth me 'Justified!'
The ancient wrath on my soul is unfurled:
In life or death, peace'll in me abide!
I approach the throne boldly---
Boldly, He calleth me to come:
'All things', sayeth He, 'are ready!'
No frown await me in His Kingdom!
To all the dead in Christ,
Behold, opened, is the pearly gate:
All their nights in life seem spiced:
Here, mean state, there, estate great!
