What are the 10 Kingdom in the book of Daniel ?

I have been wondering who are the ten kingdoms that the one horn comes out of ?

I know It is not europe as there is not ten nations in Europe ?

The learned are not agreed concerning this anonymous beast; some make it to be the Roman empire, which, when it was in its glory, comprehended ten kingdoms, Italy, France, Spain, Germany, Britain, Sarmatia, Pannonia, Asia, Greece, and Egypt; and then the little horn which rose by the fall of three of the other horns they make to be the Turkish empire, which rose in the room of Asia, Greece, and Egypt. Others make this fourth beast to be the kingdom of Syria, the family of the Seleucidae, which was very cruel and oppressive to the people of the Jews, as we find in Josephus and the history of the Maccabees. And herein that empire was diverse from those which went before, that none of the preceding powers compelled the Jews to renounce their religion, but the kings of Syria did, and used them barbarously. Their armies and commanders were the great iron teeth with which they devoured and broke in pieces the people of God, and they trampled upon the residue of them. The ten horns are then supposed to be ten kings that reigned successively in Syria; and then the little horn is Antiochus Epiphanes, the last of the ten, who by one means or other undermined three of the kings, and got the government. He was a man of great ingenuity, and therefore is said to have eyes like the eyes of a man; and he was very bold and daring, had a mouth speaking great things. We shall meet with him again in these prophecies.

The Antichrist’s Empire Is Primarily A Ten Nation Alliance

We begin our study by taking note of the repeated emphasis the Bible places on the Antichrist’s kingdom as a ten nation alliance. The first such passage is found in Daniel 7 and speaks of a future empire, symbolized through the motif of a "beast”. This empire would follow after the Babylonian, MedoPersian and Grecian Empires, being a powerfully destructive force that would utterly trample the peoples and regions it conquered. It is said to have "ten horns”:

After this, an angel informs Daniel that the ten horns represent "ten kings” which shall arise from out of this kingdom or empire. The leader of these ten kings is the Antichrist:

As for the ten horns, out of this kingdom ten kings shall arise, and another shall arise after them; he shall be different from the former ones, and shall put down three kings. He shall speak words against the Most High, and shall wear out the saints of the Most High... - Daniel 7:24-25

But it is not only in the Book of Daniel that we find references to this number. Like Daniel, John the Apostle also relays the same information in the Book of Revelation. In fact, between these two books, the LORD reiterates the specific number of nations which will initially comprise the Antichrist’s empire eight separate times. In trying to make sure that His people would get this point, the LORD reiterates and emphasizes this fact multiple times. We’ve just read two of these passages.

Following are the six others:

...and about the ten horns that were on its head, and the other horn that came up and before which three of them fell, the horn that had eyes and a mouth that spoke great things, and that seemed greater than its companions. ””Daniel 7:20

And I saw a beast rising out of the sea, with ten horns and seven heads, with ten diadems on its horns and blasphemous names on its heads. ””Revelation 13:1

And he carried me away in the Spirit into a wilderness, and I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast that was full of blasphemous names, and it had seven heads and ten horns. ””Revelation 17:3

But the angel said to me, "Why do you marvel? I will tell you the mystery of the woman, and of the beast with seven heads and ten horns that carries her. ””Revelation 7:7

And the ten horns that you saw are ten kings who have not yet received royal power, but they are to receive authority as kings for one hour, together with the beast. ””Revelation 17:12

And the ten horns that you saw, they and the beast will hate the prostitute. They will make her desolate and naked, and devour her flesh and burn her up with f ire. ””Revelation 17:16

The reason I asked is because you have to have the ten kingdoms before the antichrist shows up

I believe you are thinking correctly deltadom. Yes, there will be ten kingdoms that give their allegiance to the AC. It is not some ten Roman emperors of the past etc. but they will be in place at the end of the age at the "time of the end" which is not the same as the entirety of the latter days.

So you cant have the antichrist before the ten kingdoms and we do not have the ten kingdoms
it is like we cant have the abomination of desolation before the rebuilding of the third temple and there is no chance in that happening anytime soon as I was in Israel during easter and ramadan.

If any jewish person got near the temple mount area the Muslims got annoyed.

The reason I asked is because you have to have the ten kingdoms before the antichrist shows up.

We walk by faith and not by sight, especially in the end of days! I've studied end times for 27 years, since I first got a computer and found the internet and my mind exploded with all the so called glorious information!! :) :) :)

Do you know what? The only thing I know for sure is that we are getting closer, that's it! And the more closer we are getting, it is so true to let the WORD of God be true and every man be a liar!!

The only thing I know at this time is that I want to be closer to HIM in these end times and TV, the phone and the internet are getting in my way.

HIS Word is true and "Surely the Lord GOD does nothing without revealing His plan to His servants the prophets" (Amos 3:7).

Dominic, some of the things that must happen before the AC may not have happened and may look like there is no chance of them happening soon. But bear in mind that things can change overnight or almost overnight when the Lord actively works to bring them about. And remember, many are mocked and derided for showing and having an active interest in these things. Don't let the naysayers persuade you that you are involved in folly wanting to better understand these things.

I am not a naysayer I am just saying the bible should have president over what I think.
I do have an active interest in these things.

My worry is the whole aspect of people crying wolf so when the real events do actually happen they may not believe them because they have been lied to so many times.

During the time of Jesus if you read the dead sea scolls what they expected jesus to do and what happened.

An actual event is different that what we think it would be .
It is like the difference between talking about riding a bike and when you literally ride a bike.

How many theories will be left in the dusts of time or how many prophecy books that arent timeless will be left in ruins or will be useful for nothing better than for paper mache.

Dom I am curious-

Why do want to know so badly? Do you think it is important to have it all figured out beforehand? To what purpose? Bottom line is neither you nor anyone can know with great specificity. Scriptures are simply too vague and open to too many interpretations to have any certainty.

But even if you COULD know with certainty, what would you do with that knowledge?

I believe in bible prophecy 100 percent!
Scripture is not vague as greek is not a vague language and Hebrew is very specific.

What I find interesting it is very specific that the antichrist is one of the ten kings.
It does not say who those kings are.

Nato is made up of 30 members so it rules that out and there are 27 nations in the EU.
The G10 could be it but it could be something completely different I believe it could be something else.

I noticed some aspersion came your way for showing a desire to understand better. Eschatology is the only field of biblical truth that is treated as this type of black sheep.

"But you are not in darkness, brethren, for that day to surprise you like a thief. For you sons of light and sons of the day; we are not of the night or darkness."

My question is, if, as many advocate, the prophecies were written in such a hazy unclear manner so no one can make any real sense out of them, why then would the Holy Spirit inspire such verses about not being in darkness and not surprised?

I think that the study and knowledge of Bible prophecy is a very GOOD thing. I think that we should all know the words of the Biblical prophets as well as we know the other parts of Scripture. That's not saying that we will understand it all...or agree with others about what a passage might mean.

I will say that the "darkness" is not merely a lack of spiritual wisdom. After all, we are not walking in darkness because we walk in the light of Christ.

This was a problem for groups like the Pharisees and Sadducees and the teachers of the Law. They knew the Scriptures. However, they didn't know the One who wrote them. This is the foundation of faith -- believing God.

In Genesis, we read that Abraham believed God and it was counted to him as righteousness. The Pharisees, on the other hand, sought to indoctrinate (i.e., make converts according to their own accepted doctrines). Abraham had faith before there was a Bible...and hundreds of years before the Law of Moses.

I love to hear and study prophecy and eschatology. However, I do remain cautious when someone presents a view that isn't completely clear from Scriptures as if it is not only clear but an essential doctrine of the Church.

Paul wrote that we currently see through a glass darkly (or "dimly") and know "in part;" but, one day, we will see face-to-face and "know fully" (I Corinthians 13:12).

It's not that we will be surprised by Bible prophecy. In fact, we should study and know the words of the prophets and prophecy. However, we should be cautious about assumptions arrived to by even the most ardent and prayerful study. Sometimes, a guess is still a guess even if it makes great sense.

It doesn't mean that the guess is wrong. It may very well be correct. However, this is why we should season our words with grace -- the very grace that we rely upon despite our unworthiness outside of Christ Jesus. I'm not saying that anyone is not seasoning their words as such; but, I do think that there have been some debates over eschatology that can become divisive.

Oddly enough, I watched a Bible teacher on YouTube this week who actually proclaimed a very specific interpretation for something from Daniel. This view is not something that everyone agrees with. Yet, this teacher did so without leaving room for error or a possibility of simply being wrong. It made me think about how we can sincerely believe something but be sincerely wrong and yet proclaim that belief as a "truth" attributed to the Word of God.

So, I would encourage Dom and everyone to study and consider the possibilities -- even if they don't necessarily have to completely settle on an idea that might otherwise make a lot of sense. It's possible for a child of light to not really be sure of something and still avoid walking in darkness.

I am simply looking at the practical side. If somehow we could know for sure what these 10 kingdoms are (we can’t, nor do we even know they are literal future kingdoms) but assuming we could list out these 10 countries right now- then what? What would one do with this information?

I don't believe that the anti-christ will be one of the 10 (horns) Kings (kingdoms), he is the 11th.

If all of the prophecies regarding Christ's first coming were literally fulfilled to the tee, why should the prophecies regarding His second coming be interpreted as non-literal?

One of the things regarding future prophecy that helped me immensely was to find out what the day of the Lord is and when it occurs. When this is established in one's understanding, it helps clear up a lot that may seem unclear. Someone correctly said, all roads lead to the day of the Lord. Well, what is the day of the Lord and when does it occur and what happens when it does occur?

I would say again, to pursue a greater knowledge of eschatology and the doctrines of the last things is the only field of bible knowledge that is treated with disdain by even many believers. You can't know anything for sure or with clarity so why bother is a completely unbiblical notion.
