N

You may have differing view about this movement and this man, but it is shocking that he got put in jail beeing accused of smuggling weapons from Mexico into the US.

https://thelastreformation.com/a-true-movement-of-god-produces-true-persecution-see-what-god-is-doing-through-tlr-worldwide

Prior to that he had sought asylum in the US from Denmark as they were wanted him for homeschooling his kids and performing healing and exorcisms.

He is preaching the gospel there and has baptized people.

This persecution will come to America. Anyone who preaches the gospel of the Kingdom will be persecuted. Preaching the truth about homosexuality is now considered to be hate speech. Christians in America better wake up. The mega churches that are not preaching repentance will not be persecuted, but God will shake them to the core. Revival and reformation are also coming to the Church. We are not to fear, but be fully engaged in following the Lord, and the work of the Kingdom.

I believe the charges against him are a complete hoax. They must have conspired against him, perhaps on request of the Danish government. They even attested him to be obese. This is blatant overbearing and arbitrary nonsense.

It appears that the Danish government is as
corrupt as ours. They are calling evil good and
good evil.

This should give us some insight into this group.

I am sorry for him being in jail, we must remember also people all around the world and jailed for many reasons. Including cults such as Jehovah Witness and Mormons (they get persecuted alot).

I wrote a thread worth reading for some saints who have questions about Torben's teachings:

Brother Greg you guys up in Canada or experiencing your share of persecution. I’ve read about pastors that have been jailed and their churches shut down during the Covid.

Today I actually went to a meeting run by some people loosely associated with TLR. I had my reservations, but this is what I observed:

They go out into the streets and wherever else and preach the gospel and heal the sick. How about us?
We heard many testimonies of healing, and I believe they were genuine. One young lad, a plain simple man, not saved long ago shared testimony after testimony of all sorts of people getting healed, even people from a very formal religious background. He did not elaborate on doctrinal things, but he cared for people enough to share Jesus with them and heal a good deal of them.

They do discple people afterwards and meet in homes.

One guy today had demons cast out of him. The demons were screaming out of him. It was for real, I know this stuff.

Most of the preaching was very simple, but profoundly simple.

The gospel was preached with power back in the apostles days. Healing and casting out demons always accompanied the gospel preaching in the early days. This power is still available, it us ours to use and it must be employed, especially in evangelism. It is scriptural.

Healing is not the main thing, it is just a tool to point to Christ.

Gotquestions.org may be a good resource on some topics, but when it comes to matters of the Spirit, I am sorry to say this, but they are completely ignorant. Some things they say about this movement are a bit skewed.

We live in a day and age of dead religion. I am sick and tired of preaching without power. The letter kills! I prefer a simple guy who believes and practices what is written over many doctors and professors of religion who can spell out textbook theology but have no power.

Enough written, I must eat my words, I need get up to this myself.

Because of past experiences I am very skeptical of "testimonies of healing.” How do you know people were healed? Because people in this church say they were? Because the person allegedly healed says they were? What were they healed of/from?

I do believe in healing and I believe we are to pray in power for healing and even command sickness to leave in Jesus’ name.

But I just don’t trust testimonies. I think there needs to be legitimate medical documentation of healing of a known diagnosed ailment. I know this does happen at times but it is exceedingly rare in my experience.

So when I hear these folks are going out and healing people left and right I have to be skeptical, even though I don’t want to be.

Many years ago Derek Prince came to the town I grew up in, my Mother who had been to the meetings said you need to go Demons are being cast, people are being healed.

On the Sunday night I got a phone call saying that I didn't have to go to sea as the weather was to bad so off I went to the meeting to see what was going on.

I had have never seen such things before and haven't seen anything like that since.

I often pray and say to God when it's my time to go, I want to go with him confirming the message that he has me to preach.

I agree with you there! Men and women just get up and went instead of being sent.

I am also sick and tired of the "sinner's prayer." I've ministered to women in the jails for 14 years and the repercussions of that single prayer is devastating.

[Edited out] 75% of the church is preaching without power, imho.

God bless you,
Lisa

I think God is much more pleased with those people who put the matters of the kingdom of God into practise, forbearing their shortcomings, than with those who know a lot of theology and do not practise what they know they should be doing.

Agree.

Exodus 20:16 "You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

Inordinate passion on theology is one of the worst things that happened among the churches. Among its fruits are, in secular description, paranoia, borderline personality disorder, and narcissism.

That is a must precept for every christian, to reserve a certain degree of skepticism is reasonable, gullibility is the critical factor why cults exist.

Here is a video that explains how Torben got framed by the Danish media and government and they even discussed his case in parliament.

Mind you, Christ has been accused by the pharisees that he casted out demons by Belzebub thus committing the unpardonable sin, because they attributed the work of the Holy Spirit to Satan. This is heavy stuff.

You may disagree with Torben, but before we criticize him, when have you last cast out a demon?

Luke 11:14-20
King James Version
14 And he was casting out a devil, and it was dumb. And it came to pass, when the devil was gone out, the dumb spake; and the people wondered.
15 But some of them said, He casteth out devils through Beelzebub the chief of the devils.
16 And others, tempting him, sought of him a sign from heaven.
17 But he, knowing their thoughts, said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and a house divided against a house falleth.
18 If Satan also be divided against himself, how shall his kingdom stand? because ye say that I cast out devils through Beelzebub.
19 And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your sons cast them out? therefore shall they be your judges.
20 But if I with the finger of God cast out devils, no doubt the kingdom of God is come upon you.

Luke 12:10 10 And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven.

Here is an interview with Dr. Michael Brown and Torben and his lawyer.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Bhiwc_nm_U

Torben continues to minister in prisons and they see people repenting, getting filled with the Holy Spirit, baptized and doing bible studies.
Mind you brothers, much of the New Testament you are reading today was written in jail and God worked there mightily. Even in the old testament some of the most noble man that walked the face of the earth such as Jospeph, Daniel, Jeremiah, John the Baptist were in jail. Torben warned us that this is just the beginning.

Pray for this man. He has been held now for over 6 months without charges in the US. They guess the only reason they are not releasing him is that US immigration is afraid to set a precedent for other people from western nations to apply for asylum on the bases of religious persecution. He fled Denmark, because he was accused of performing exorcism that disturbed children. They even passed a law in parliament to forbid such things just because of Torben.

Here is another update from Tobin speaking from jail.

What happened to him in the US is rather typical for countries under dictatorship.

Listen to his address, it is very encouraging to hear this man placing his hope in Jesus Stil.

I feel very badly for Torben. He has had a difficult time with the law in Denmark and now here.

Nonetheless, I do think his ministry has serious theological problems. When he first strated his ministry I was introduced to him by a friend. I watched his videos because my friend recommended them but there were many theological problems with what he taught. His main point was that we should be going to the streets and praying for people's healings, and the healing would provide an opportunity to preach the Word. He claimed this is what Peter and John did (bc of the healing of the crippled man in Acts) and that should be how to spread the word.

This is the same thing many NAR churches are teaching, starting with Bethel. It wouldn't really matter, if it was confirmed by scripture, but it is not.

I do not get my information from got questions.org but from Torban's own words and testimony of friends who followed (and I assume still follow) him and attended his conferences.

Please heed the warning. We all want preaching with "power", but the power is IN THE WORD OF GOD AND THE GOSPEL. I am not a cessationist, not reformed. I just read my Bible and make sure to test every ministry by what the Word states.

I don't judge the innocence of Torben, but I am not going to jump and automatically say what he's been accused of is a s a lie. We need to hear both sides of the matter. There were questionable issues in Denmark and it did not have to do with homeschooling.

I pray the Lord gives Torban and his family peace and that they can be extricated from this legal matter without consequence.

I have been to one of their meeting. The presence of God was there, the teaching was simple but powerful, there was brokenness and tears and demons manifested an were cast out later on.

I do not agree with all of their practises, but it is rather in nuances than in essence.

They are definitely not NAR.
