HIS WORD IS TRUTH!
TRUTH is told the exact same way each time it is spoken. Whereas deception changes with each version of TRUTH. This is a major cause as to my aversion to so called "church fathers". What an acronym of acidity. History is a valuable teacher, as long as we learn from it's errors, determined not to repeat them. Yet it often seems as though the errors are far more important to men, than TRUTH. In as much as these "fathers" add too or take from the SCRIPTURES, they err. And so do we. It is a terrible sin. Add 2,000 years of embellishment to the errors of men, that cannot be supported with Bible TRUTH, and well, you end up with some 40,000 denominations and who knows how many schisms today. So how do we sort through all of this and revive it or reform it? We don't.
Our blessed hope is in YESHUA HA'MACHIACH (JESUS CHRIST) and HE alone. When HIS presence manifests itself within and floods the heart, there are no words to adequately define what occurs. Equally there are not words to explain away this transaction of new creation life. One will never convince a man or woman that what they have is only imaginary, no matter how clever your deception. And once tasted, you can no longer find a substitute for HIM, in what man calls "church". Quote the "fathers" what you will. Celebrate Catholic Liturgy as often as you please. Your religion will not save you, nor will it fill you.
Php 2:13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
IT IS A WORK OF YEHOVAH that works in YOU!!! This work has no other source. And it has no replication. Only representation. We re-present HIM to a lost world. HOW, by being HIS ambassador to HIS government and noT our own, or that invented by supposition and presumption of "church fathers".
Act_17:11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.
The searched the SCIPTURES ( TEXTS BC) to see if these things be so. Friend can you do this? Can you take all the books before Malichi, and anchor your faith in CHRIST ALONE?
I appreciate people's passion to learn. I understand when they talk about or even "quote" the "church fathers". But to teach their presumption and their suppositions as probable facts, is a careless use of language. To HIM alone be the glory.
I am so thankful for history, especially church history. But like preaching, it is often biased to the slant of the person who recorded it, and his/her personal experiences with such information and events. After all, we all have this tendency to present those things favorable to us, and omit certain embarrassing accounts of shameful things. It is human. It is understandable. And it is educational, only in that we are aware of the errors and inconsistencies so as to try and learn what happened, without being sucked into the errors brought forth in the account, and doom ourselves to repeat them. - Lahry Sibley

But if one is too proud as yourself to be part of a local congregation and work to edify and build other believers so as to glorify Christ in the midst and if you hold non-Trinitarian views, what credibility do you really have your own self?

He won't answer you, Docs. He'll only talk *at* you. This is not love, just a one-sided diatribe. He has "zeal, but not according to knowledge."

You cannot attack TRUTH. You can only attempt to attack the author. It is HIS truth and not mine. So the reality is that you attack GOD and not me. Say what you will. But as long as I am granted access, I will keep posting here. No one forces you to read it. Why should I honor your scoffing?

Wellll... nice to hear from you, Lahry! No one here is attacking Truth which is the Person of Jesus Christ. There *is* a lot of doctrinal debate on this site, most of which I stay out of.

I mentioned a few months ago that I enjoyed seeing that video of you vigorously running up and down a long staircase. Good stamina for your years, and quite humanising. But I will be very honest in saying you are wasting your time posting those screeds here. Isn't personal evangelism - among the lost, no less - far more effective than writing polemics to a forum of *believers*? In person the people see your eyes, your expressions, and hear your voice. If the compassion is genuine they will quickly pick up on it. If God is in your words then even "a soft answer will break a bone." Otherwise, it's wood, hay, and stubble.

What Docs wrote about church accountability and fellowship is true, and very basic to our faith, just as the Triune nature of our God is a core tenet. Many of the preachers you admire - Spurgeon, Ravenhill, et al. held to these doctrines, and rightly so.

You attack others relentlessly and without let up but when someone says something back to you they are really attacking God. Okay, I see. That attitude is a large part of the problem I think and is common to those who have separated themselves from the rest of the body of Christ.
