My grandmother Catherine Stewart Testimony

Q
Quan2001 Dec 8, 2022

Catherine Stewart was born on April 5, 1947 in Kinston, North Carolina. Catherine grew up in a poor family her father left when she was a very young age. In her late 20's Catherine Stewart moved to Upstate New York and Married to Willie Stewart of Macon, Georgia working as a certified Nurse Assistant and her husband a college professor while serving in the Military. She attended a Apostolic House Church called The Church of Jesus Christ Light Of The World and met a woman named Pastor Chapman from Los Angeles, California. Pastor Chapman preached in church, in house, and on the streets. She preached at a revival at night with over 200 members but that night that's all God wanted her there she felt like if she was gonna fly away she said "something is going to happen I'll be a part of it". She told the Lord I'll leave Los Angeles tonight. All she had in her pocket was $10.00 and that was for bills. She received help from the Lord and moved to Rensselaer, New York.

One night in the House Church Pastor Chapman was preaching on Hell and The Holy Ghost knocked on the heart of Catherine Stewart with Powerful Conviction. Catherine Stewart knew she needed a savior for her sins. With so much Conviction that night Catherine Stewart had a Bible opened and cried out to the Lord and said "I don't wanna go to hell and be damned for eternity I want to go to heaven" that same night she was saved and received the Holy Ghost .

Catherine Stewart was my grandmother. She played a role in my conversion when I was a young kid. She told me about Jesus Christ. I was convicted on my bed that night and ask God to save me. I was a "New Creature" in Christ. I know what I want to be when I get older "The man of God ''. My grandmother played a big impact in my life. In her last days she was diagnosed with Alzhemiers. Catherine Stewart finished her course on October 22, 2015.

I'm writing a book about her life of faith.

Thank you for sharing the story of your grandmother’s conversion to Jesus, Quan. The Lord is merciful and kind and her example to you led you to Him. What a glorious heritage.

My grandmother was miraculously saved also! God is so good to our forefathers/mothers. Mine was a drinker and partier with my grandpa but one day, she was listening to preaching on the radio in 1955 and was convicted. She ran to the bathroom, kneeled before the toilet and prayed that God would save her soul! He met her there.

All her and pappaw's friend's came over for New Years Eve to drink and dance the night away but she told the friends that she had to watch the grand babies and she stayed in the bedroom all night. All the friends never came back, pappaw told them she went crazy and got saved!

A while later, she got sick and could only eat baby food that she made. She was losing blood and very pale. She saw a healing revival advertisement in the newspaper and asked her friend to take her b/c she couldn't drive. She needed help to get back to the prayer room and when they prayed for her, she was overcome by the Holy Spirit and they laid her on the floor and she said she felt like she was floating, she could feel herself getting warm all over. And she could hear everyone around her excitedly saying, "Oh look, she's getting color in her face!"

She never preached but she was a prayer warrior and every unbeliever in our family knew if something happened to call Granny!! What a legacy our grandmother's were!! Laid up a lot of prayers for their families and I'm doing the same!!

God bless you,
Lisa

Thank you very much for these testimonies. They are encouraging, and I think back on my own testimony.

You say that you don’t have a ministry, but all of us have a ministry that is given to us from the Lord. We can all pray, we can all intercede. We have testimonies of godly women, grandmothers, mothers-in-law, that prayed for us and prayed for our families, and the Lord saved us. Praise God for intercessors, they cried out to the lord, and the Lord heard them and brought Salvation to our families .
