Slander

Obviously slander is sinful.
When we live in a day with more and more False Teachers, how does one tread and not be guilty of Slander?

If Pastor X is a obvious Heretic, is it wrong for me to share with a brother or sister that they shouldn’t listen to them and the reason why?

no sir, it aint wrong.

but whats the context?

is the fellow two blocks down?

or is it about what this fancy dan ten shekel and a shirt pastor put up on this social midea to collect more shekels?

probably the latter....collect more shekels. thats sad for certain.

nothing better than a good prayer meeting where folk love to be with our God, love to pray, even only five folk is plenty enough to shake the gates of hell if we mean business.

But what is the business?, Lord told me a while back, "Leave the cities, famine and death, flood and fire shall consume them. So i did. But can praying men avert disaster.

so what are gonna do?......wanna do some heretic hunting?.....you ever drive thru Wyoming, with those rams and Elks?

Don't even have to aim, there re so many of them, its JUST like that with hereticks!!!!

Just like that! It's a never ending list, and BUT....there for the Grace of God, go you or i!!!

hell is a million degrees hot, but it aint my job to consign a fellow to it, the LORD does that, it's a sad business, thats why God is God.......i',m not and your not. God is God.

Thank God. Praise His Name!!!!

Maybe if that person hasn't been listening to that pastor I wouldn't say anything. You could say a generalized comment about how the church could be going into error in a certain way and say that we have to be careful. Especially of sermons of that nature.

As we can enter into gossip in the heart as well as the slander you mentioned .. Just by talking for talkings sake about the bad pastor..

Our worst enemy is our heart. Not the devil. All he can do is tempt us with thoughts and the limited power he has.. unless we yield to his temptation. Them God will give him more power over us. As Jesus said to a man he had healed.. "stop sinning or worse things will come upon you."
Jesus also told us "it's what comes out of a man that makes him unclean". So we have to guard our words I believe.

Guard your heart with all diligence it says in Proverbs.

If false teachers are publicly promoting heresy, then they should be publicly rebuked. If a professing christian says to me something like "I heard this wonderful teaching by Creflo Dollar..." I will tell him straightaway that he's listening to a falser teacher. I don't care if that person is supposedly deriving some good from the teaching, I don't care if he sees some truth. Rat poison is 99.9% food, but it's the 0.01% that kills. Even demons can SAY what the true gospel is.

"And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying: The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation. And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour." Acts 16:16-18

I imagine that this woman would be accepted in most churches without scrutiny these days. She would probably be made the head of an evangelism team.

I truly believe we are in the last of the last days, so we have to be extremely careful who we listen to.

"For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect." Matthew 24:24

The problem on these forums is that servants of God are being accused of being false teachers and false prophets repeatedly by the same few people.

There are true ministers that started out right, then they got into some error in their teaching, but still were sound in their teachings on the doctrine of Christ. Some of them have repented of the false prosperity gospel that they were teaching.

We need to be careful when we call someone a false teacher. It would be better to correct the error that they are teaching, and unless you are 100% sure that they are heretics, do not bring slander against a brother in the Lord.

Slander definition:
1. the action or crime of making a false spoken statement damaging to a person's reputation.
2. make false and damaging statements about (someone).

You should take into consideration what if your version of heresy is your denomination's version and not everyone's opinion of of Pastor X?

I don't know, I'm just asking.

We, Christians, love to spread rumors and tear down people we do not agree with.

I don't know if you know this, but Galileo was condemned as a heretic for supporting Copernicus's thesis that the earth revolves around the sun. He was lambasted for centuries, only to be found correct.

All of our slandering should be run by the Holy Spirit first!!

Bruce, why not simply change the word "slander” to "reprove” and follow Ephesians 5:10 Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.
11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather (((reprove))) them.
12 For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.
13 But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.

"reprove” verb-
Outline of Biblical Usage:
to convict, refute, confute
generally with a suggestion of shame of the person convicted
by conviction to bring to the light, to expose
to find fault with, correct
by word
to reprehend severely, chide, admonish, reprove
to call to account, show one his fault, demand an explanation
by deed
to chasten, to punish

Hope that helps 🙏🏻

"If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness; he is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings, perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself." 1 Timothy 6:3-5

It isn't that prosperity teachers missed the mark on some doctrine, it's that they are preaching a false gospel; they have "corrupt minds." They are "destitute of the truth." The church must be protected and warned against these men AT ALL COSTS.

I am 100% sure that they are heretics; the scriptures prove it.
