this compilation was edited in 2003, i was "search engined" to this website because after i came to Jesus Messiah in 2002, the word "revival" was in my heart....did not KNOW what revival really meant in God's Economy...i was first led to "Fire On The Altar", which led me here in 2002......

anyway I used to love hearing that story of the young man being called on to pray. I wanted to be like that.
I also didn't know what revival was when I saw that cassette tape of the Lewis Revival in a Christian bookshop.

I dont even know what "Yogic" prayers are, i'm assuming its some kooky new age stuff, which i have no knowledge of or interest in.
when i wrote "pray/breathe/talk". its just my high school drop out shorthand for spending time with Jesus........sometimes my soul is so bereft of joy, its all i can do to plead with God, "help me"......or........"bring comfort to ....... heart"...simple things, thats all i meant, in Jesus' love, neil

When I read "pray/breathe/talk" I took it that you meant you are practising contemplative prayer or as the likes of Tod Bentley and his associates call it Prayer soaking.

The roots of contemplative prayer can be clearly traced back to a group of monks known as the desert fathers. These hermits of the early Middle Ages, who lived in the Middle Eastern deserts.

Unfortunately, they did not regard the Bible as sufficient in their search for Him and in learning how to pray, because they borrowed ideas from other religions, particularly it seems from Hinduism and Buddhism.

The desert fathers were wrong in going to other sources, especially to pagan religions to try to develop their prayers.

That is why I called it "Yogic" prayers as contemplative prayer/prayer soaking is no different that what pagan religions practice while praying to Budda or Krishna to awaken the Kundalini.

I hope that explains what I meant by yogic prayers.

I know God looks at our hearts, but i remember seeing him on the interweb....and IF one is to speak the Word of God, its my conviction that a plethora of tatoo's are not appropriate, and hitting people, and to think you thought i was a proponent of such? (i;m ruefully smiling)

THANK YOU for that briefing on the desert fathers, i've heard of them, never pursued them though....dont know why, it isnt hard to imagine that mucking about the "Middle East". one wouldnt get drawn into pagan idoltary...time after time, millenia after millenia.

referencing further down your reply, i've never been intellectually invested in study of "comparative religion", so thank you for helping group those eastern "relgions" into what you TOUGHT i meant.

Oh Colin, what i meant was that for a few years, my soul has been down cast, and in the last six months this brokenheartedness has been growing expotentially.
