WHAT storm startles The sky?
The one that sits on high,
What windy gale can Him gall,
Seeing He is the Lord of all?
But by Him, can any ill stir?
Good can the Lord confer,
Out of the bitterest extremity,
On all who uphold His verity!
His purpose stands stout!
Oh saints cast out doubt:
Behold, as He is unchangeable,
So are His purpose immutable!
As we sail to the blest haven,
Hades pirates would to raven:
With us, is Christ, our captain ---
Over weather-states, a chieftain!
A hallowing wilderness, I see:
Through it, I must come to thee!
The way to the city of light,
Passes through the vale of night.
Thorns and briars, are in the way:
You warrant to ever with me stay!
Though all forsake me in this path,
I know from me, you'll never depart!
What storm startles The sky?
For what ill should I wail and cry,
When the sky whispers, 'Peace'?
Rise, my soul, from fear, cease!
