TEXT: 1 COR. 1:11-13
''For it has been declared to me of you, my brothers, by them which are of the house of Chloe, that there are contentions among you./Now this I say, that every one of you said, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ./Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were you baptized in the name of Paul?''
It calls for praise, when a saint is able to bring his heart to believe that all who call the name of Christ in truth, are his brethren; no nobler and saintly spirit than a kind that looks upon all believers as one. It speaks of a weakness or shortage of light for a saint to see no God in anybody or place, save only in his own little religious assembly. To not labor to find a common ground with other believers, discovers a twisted sense of what the body of Christ is all about. If we believe we pray to one God, we should then stop preying on each other's reputations and characters. How can we say we shall praise God together in heaven, when we cannot gather together to praise Him here. The church has actually been torn apart and polarized on the platform of names and graces; her members follow men than Christ; we seem to patronize one servant of God than others. The names of men of God, take us up than Jesus'. Friends, let us flee anything that brings disunity to this mystic body of Christ, the church.
