My High priest, dear and great;
Standeth unstained and straight,
Before the throne of God on high:
That I may live, not die!
Heaven demandeth price:
All my good works are lies;
Full of dirt and dissimulation ---
Soul fly to God's Priest-Son.
How His death licked hell dry
And against all woes cry;
Setting crown on the head of mercy:
Hell where's thy victory?
Written's my name in Heaven:
Life everlasting's given ---
Vessel freighted with mercy and love;
Sailing upward above!
When lifeless be this dust;
Silver and gold see rust;
And my soul upward taketh his flight,
Pray, I see thy face bright!
'Welcome, thou servant mine;
Enter reward that's thine!'
Thus shall His blood cry that day,
When His love meet me halfway!
