Hi guys,
just would like to share some oberservations from an outreach in our little town in the middle of Germany. Today we went out with 2 musicians and me approaching people telling them about Jesus. I usually ask them the question "Do you believe in God" and when they are interested I usally use Paul's Mars hill approach by talking about God as creator, then paradise, fall, God's plan of salvation, Jesus the Messiah, his atoning death and resurrection, depending on their willingness to listen. While I had some nice talks, about 60-70% reject any such conversation right away and few continue for longer than 5 minutes.
Today I saw strong opposition, one guy had to restrain himself not to attack me. I withdrew himself so that I could speak to his companion. People show signs of bondage in their appearance through tatoos, piercings, and hairstyles.
Later on a local doctor who happend to be a born again believe saw us and joined us and helped us a good deal. One guy I talked to was a professing atheist who wore a "Bad Religion" T-Shirt.
I sensed a fierce spiritual battle and I was sort of tough. It is easy to get discouraged, that's what the enemy wants.
I have done these outreaches many times of the years, never did anybody come to Christ.
I would like to hear from you. Is there anyone here into street outreach? How do you go about it?
Jesus is the Lord of the harvest and the fields are white and the labourers few. We have the truth and the power and the spirit, but why is just nothing happening? Does anyone here has a clue?
I feel like Peter going fishing catching nothing, can someone tell me how to catch fish?
