Biblical Discipleship

"There are millions concerned about their eternal destiny, especially if their security is not in CHRIST and HIS shed blood. There's much to do in HIS kingdom. Unfortunately, so little of the need is being met through the "local church". Demands of organizational functionality chokes off spiritual sensitivity, and the end result is frustration of both leaders and those who need inspiration to move forward, following HIM.
Let me illustrate the vision.
I was at a "missionary conference" some years ago. The building held 6000 people and it was maxed out. When each person came in, they were given a 4" tall candle.
During the service, the pastor asked that all the lights be turned off. The only light was from the two foyers. Through one of those foyers, one person came in to a room of 6000 people, in darkness. So the person with the lighted candle came down in front of the platform, and lighted one person's candle. Then those two lighted two more. And those four lighted four more. In less than 10 mins, ALL the candles in the building, were lighted. It was amazing. What if that one person would have tried to singularly light all the candles? Well, you can imagine.
Churches want to consume their city with the gospel, with only one candle lighting person. You can see the futility, first hand, where you are.
True Evangelism begins slowly, this multiplying ourselves as candle bearers in our community. But once the numbers begin to multiply, it picks up speed. And first thing you know, people are calling it a "revival". Well, yes and no. The reality is that it is biblical discipleship, the great commission our LORD commanded us to keep. We build HIS kingdom, and not our own.
